Written with producer Zach Witness, the track marries quirky and kitsch, capturing the absurdity of being chatted up when you’d rather be unbothered. Beneath its carefree charm lies a bite – a playful nod to the duality of women and the ‘fools’ who underestimate them. On “Talk”, singer-songwriter SALYA leans fully into the contrasts that define her artistry – raw yet delicate, detached yet quietly defiant. Beginning as a soft, almost withdrawn ballad, the track captures the need to retreat from the world’s noisiness, her signature timbre carrying a sense of emotional exhaustion. But “Talk” doesn’t stay subdued for long. It builds steadily toward a cathartic alt-rock release, feeling earned rather than abrupt. It embodies the power in a refusal to over-perform; instead, SALYA lets the progression speak for itself.
