Dove Cameron may be wearing something blue on the February cover of Allure—bright blue Chanel eye shadow, to be specific—but there’s a pretty good chance that’s not how she’s going to do her wedding makeup. The star of the upcoming thriller series 56 Days says she’s found herself leaning into “less makeup and more natural nails” as she enters her thirties, and that may very well apply to how she’ll tie the knot with her fiancé, singer Damiano David… Or not.

“The wedding space is so specific, and I don’t have any feelings either way about if I should try to fit into that or not,” she told Allure when asked what she’s envisioning for her bridal hair and makeup. “Your wedding should be about you, you know? I don’t feel pressure to amalgamate or honor a specific idea of what a wedding should look like, but that doesn’t mean some of it won’t look traditional. I’m just not thinking about it.”

But that doesn’t mean she hasn’t put some thought into the big day. She’s currently engrossed in a debate—between herself and herself—about what her dress should look like.

“I’m going to have to figure out a way to design a dress that feels inclusive of the fullness of who I am,” she tells Allure. “If it’s my wedding day and we’re both in suits, I’m going to look back and be like, ‘Well, fuck.’ But if I go ultra-femme, I’m going to be like, ‘Well, fuck.’ I truly do feel split down the middle energetically between a masculine-feminine energy.”

That said, she does appear to be leaning toward a gown. “I like a beautiful white dress. It’s either going to be really simple—so it’s not about the dress and it’s just about feeling like myself—or something that is so avant-garde, so different, that it feels like an emotional expression,” she says.

Needless to say, whatever look she lands on for her wedding day, it will be undoubtedly stunning.
