Thistle BrownPop singer Lorde will perform in Bristol for the first time to headline a new outdoor concert this summer, organisers have announced.
The singer from New Zealand – who rose to fame with her songs Royals, Green Light and Solar Power – is top of the line-up for the first Forwards Presents event on Clifton Downs.
The rest of the line-up includes Djo, Audrey Hobert, Rose Gray, Esha Tewari and Grove.
Event co-founder Tom Paine said: “Welcoming Lorde to the city feels like the perfect way to begin, she’s an extraordinary artist, and this promises to be a truly special night for Bristol.”
Who is Lorde?
The 29-year-old singer, whose real name is Ella Marija Lani Yelich-O’Connor, gained recognition after she released her first extended play, The Love Club, in 2012.
Her single Royals received widespread critical acclaim and became an international success, leading to two wins and one nomination across three categories at the Grammy Awards in 2013.
Her debut album Pure Heroine was released that same year to further critical and commercial success.
She followed up with the albums Melodrama in 2017, Solar Power in 2021 and Virgin in 2025.
When is Lorde performing in Bristol?
The Forwards Presents concert will take place on 28 August, the day before the city’s annual Forwards Festival returns from 29-30 August.
The new event on Durdham Down starts at 14:00 BST and finishes at 23:00.
Last entry will be at 20:00.
When will Lorde tickets go on sale?
A ticket pre-sale registration opens on Thursday at 10:00 GMT with general sale beginning at 10:00 on Friday.
Although the new event takes place at the same location as Forwards Festival, organisers said tickets will be sold separately.
The line-up and ticket sale for Forwards Festival 2026 is yet to be announced.
Who else is playing in Bristol this summer?
