A reworked take on Capture The Flag, the aim of Steal A Brainrot is to get as many brainrots as possible by stealing them from other players or buying them from the in-game marketplace. You can also buy “slaps” and different items to “troll other players”, according to the game’s official description.

Steal A Brainrot launched in May 2025 and quickly became one of the biggest Roblox experiences around. It’s been visited more than 56billion times in less than a year and regularly sees the concurrent player count top 200,000.

There’s not much of a narrative to the competitive multiplayer experience but that hasn’t stopped production company Story Kitchen from starting work on a film adaptation.

According to a Deadline report, the project is currently in the early stages of development. “The Steal A Brainrot film will embody the experience’s signature combination of chaos, comedy, and competitive mischief, inviting audiences into a fast-paced world where every score can make you rich, every risk can reset your run, and every rival is one move away from taking it all back.”

In a joint statement, Story Kitchen co-founders Dmitri M. Johnson and Michael Lawrence Goldberg said, “We’re thrilled to bring Steal A Brainrot to the big screen. Noobini Pizzanini 6-7.” Release details are still to be announced.

Story Kitchen are currently working on Amazon Prime Video’s live-action adaptation of Tomb Raider, which started production earlier this month. They’re also involved with adaptations of Life Is Strange, Streets Of Rage, Split Fiction and It Takes Two.

Meanwhile, Steal A Brainrot recently hosted Bruno Mars’ first live performance of his ‘The Romantic’ era. It’s reported that more than 12.7million people logged in to watch the 15-minute virtual gig.

In other news, four more actors have been confirmed for Amazon Prime Video’s live-action God Of War adaptation.
