Converse Reimagines The Chuck Taylor For Three New 2026 Builds

When you’ve got a shoe as simultaneously timeless and historic as the Converse Chuck Taylor, it behooves you to keep that model as an integral part of brand strategy.

To their credit, Converse clearly understands that prompt, stretching, reframing, and otherwise tinkering with the Chuck Taylor in some fashion nearly every season, most visibly with the comfort-focused Chuck 70 reframing and more recently with the renewed run of the Converse First String. With Paris Fashion Week revealing far-ahead plans in footwear for plenty of imprints, Converse took it upon themselves to tee off three new silhouettes in the tuck that’ll help redefine the Chuck Taylor for 2026.

Up first is the Chuck Taylor “Lo,” beginning things with a stripped-back vision, clearly positioned to speak to the slim-soled movement. Despite a pretty radical shape, the typical vulcanized sole unit serves almost as a mudguard for the model, while new comfort aspects arrive with a concealed foam midsole and a padded leather collar. While not entirely absent from the Converse catalog, suede coating the upper stamps this as a new step in the catalog all the same.

Then comes the Chuck Taylor “Throwback.” a more subtle build that aims to recapture the essence of the 90’s. Sized up and imperfect are the two prompts to accomplish that; an off-center branding patch and irregular foxing tape speak to the former, while XL lacing options, a wider last, and a thicker midsole deliver on the latter.

Easily the most experimental is saved for last with the Converse Chuck Taylor “Run Star Crush,” a new entry in a series that’s already spawned Hike and Motion editions and overall tends towards this sort of been maximalist and eye-catching fare. Its immediate claim to faim is grafting a rubber running sole, replete with a pointed shank bisecting the platform, but exagerrated peblled leather uppers and a double lace system push even further into a fashion-forward direction.

While the Chuck Taylor Throwback is earmarked for March and the Run Star Crush for Fall (July – September), the Converse Chuck Taylor Lo is available now via Converse.com, retailing for $100 in black, off-white, and red colorways. Sizing runs from W6.5/M8 to W12.5/M11.
