Champagne Gold

For a softer metallic mani, consider a champagne gold glitter nail look. “A soft gold with a hint of sparkle channels classic New Year’s Eve vibes,” Hanna says. “It’s glamorous and soft and will work well for any NYE event.”

Festive Red

Red polish (in all its forms and finishes) works just as well for New Year’s Eve as Christmas. “A classic red adds warmth and glamor to any NYE outfit,” Hanna says. “You can never go wrong with a classic red nail to get you through the holidays.”

That said, if you want to spice it up a bit, Nailsaloon senior artist Marnae Orton suggests using a cat eye or chrome polish. “Swipe a cat eye polish across all ten nails to let the mesmerizing shimmer shine, or pair it with a chic nude or glossy black, letting its sparkle pop on a single accent nail,” she says. “Or, for the ultimate statement shade for New Year’s Eve, [opt for] a vibrant, sparkly red with a luxurious metallic finish that demands attention.”

Aqua Sparkle

Looking for a festive New Year’s Eve manicure that sparkles and shines in an unexpected way? Orton says to reach for a sparkly aqua polish. “A dazzling aqua sparkle captures the cool, enchanting vibe of the holidays,” she says. “Shimmering, oceanic tones make it a perfect pick for frosty winter nights and festive celebrations, whether you’re cozying up by the fire or hitting the holiday party circuit.”

Cozy Cashmere

Whether you enjoy neutral nail looks or are on the hunt for the prettiest base for some New Year’s Eve nail art, Orton says creamy cashmere shades are a must. “Cashmere is the ultimate nude—a soft, elegant shade that pairs perfectly with everything,” she remarks. “Its versatility makes it an ideal choice for any occasion, but add a sparkle sticker to the mix, and you’ve got yourself a manicure with a touch of holiday magic.” Another option? Incorporate the hue into an ultra-chic velvet glass nail look or add a chrome powder on top for a frosted effect.

Glossy Black With Shimmer

Headed to a black tie affair this New Year’s Eve? Consider a glossy black mani to match. “A black polish paired with a fine shimmer is effortlessly edgy for New Year’s Eve,” Hanna says. “Pair it with a glossy topcoat for maximum drama.”

Open to other possibilities? “Add silver sparkle to one or two nails for a chic, eye-catching contrast, or layer silver glitter just on the tips for a dazzling twist on the classic French manicure,” suggests Orton.

Midnight Blue

Sticking to the dark side of the spectrum, we have this rich navy hue. “Midnight blue nails give off sophisticated and festive vibes that work beautifully for any New Year’s Eve party,” Hanna says. “Try layering it under a shimmery polish for a celestial-inspired look.”

Gold Chrome

More of a gold girly? “A high-shine gold chrome finish instantly makes a statement,” Hanna says. “It works beautifully as a full manicure or paired with 3D or negative space designs.”
