Amelia Gray’s “Fairy-Like” Golden Globes Look Is Going Straight to Our 2026 Moodboard
Makeup artist Sam Visser gave us the exclusive details.

YSL Beauty
Key Takeaways
- Amelia Gray wore a Bratz-coded makeup look to the 2026 Golden Globes.
- Her glam came complete with ultra-glossy lips and lavender eyeshadow.
- Celebrity makeup artist Sam Visser used YSL Beauty products on the model—and told us exactly how you can copy her look.
“It is whackadoodle time” is a great phrase to use for a number of occasions, but can really be applied to those of us who, after seeing Amelia Gray’s look at the 2026 Golden Globes, are spending the morning applying a heavy dose of lavender eyeshadow. By the way, whackadoodle time isn’t necessarily a bad thing. It mostly just means something nutty is happening and Lisa Rinna is kind of involved.
On Sunday, January 11, Gray arrived at the The Beverly Hilton hotel to take on the very important roll of resident awards season Bratz doll. She made it happen in a custom glittering Swarovski gown and extra-long black extensions (though her mom is a hair icon herself, they’re more reminiscent of a few others, namely Cher, Demi Moore, and the Brontë sisters).

To complete the look, she wore a full face of YSL Beauty by YSL Beauty Global Makeup Artist Sam Visser—perfect purple shadow included.
Amelia Gray’s Bratz Makeup
“For Amelia, we wanted a high-fashion starry, liquid, mermaid-like look,” Visser tells Byrdie exclusively. “The glam was really intuitive.”

YSL Beauty
Alongside the soft purple shadow and lush lashes framing her big brown eyes, the most Bratz-coded part of Gray’s look was her plush and shinier than shiny pout.
Her dark brows were also shaped to perfection, and a touch of that same purple shimmer was dusted across her cheekbones.
“Lavender, one of her favorite colors, set the direction and we built it from there,” adds the artist.
“I combed her lashes with the new Lash Latex Mascara for that seductive, fairy-like look and the skin glowed like liquid light across the cheeks, décolleté, arms, and shoulders. It was all about radiance, dimension, and starry beauty, unmistakably YSL Beauty.”

How to Get the Look
Starting off with the model’s complexion, Visser accentuated her stunning cheekbones and added some extra dimension with YSL All Hours Hyper Bronzer in Shades 2 and 3 and creamy melt-into-your-skin Hyper Luminize Powder Highlighter in Lavender Lust. His technique includes working with “dusts” of product and plenty of patient blending to achieve a natural sculpt.

Getty Images
The flush came courtesy of Make Me Blush in Babydoll Pink, a lightweight, blurring powder blush with all-night lasting power. Visser layered the blush from the apples of the cheeks up into the temples to create a “natural, lifted flush.”
Then there were those brilliant eyes, which once again made (dare I say even better?) use of the Lavender Lust Highlighter. After applying a purple base shadow in a “watercolor wash,” the artist added the shimmery shade to the lids to “give them a chrome-dusted shine.”

Getty Images
Alongside a single falsie placed on the outer corners of her eyes, the new Lash Latex Mascara added length and precision “to create a soft, fairy-like effect,” also promising to stay put all ceremony long, through the after parties, and then some.

Getty Images
And the vision for the lips? “Cosmic shine and ultra hydration with a kiss of newness for sculpting.” A secret new product (!) was paired with the forever favorite Loveshine Plumping Lip Oil Gloss in Thunder Stealer to make it happen.
Okay, so maybe she’s the resident awards season mermaid/fairy/supermodel/Bratz doll? There should be an award for that, by the way.
