Wahoo has slowly added more and more features to their lineup of Elemnt bike computers, and this latest promises some helpful compatibility updates.
Among the updates are native support to control a GoPro camera, a set of ANT+ smart lights, and even a Bluetooth-connected music player straight from your computer. Further training plan integration expands past Wahoo SYSTM, TrainerRoad, and TrainingPeaks as well. All of these new pages can be added, removed, and edited via the Wahoo Elemnt companion app.

First is the ability to control GoPro Control directly from your Wahoo computer. The new optional page lets you choose your shooting profile, change your shooting mode, see how much battery you have left, and record the time left on your SD card.
Some Garmin computers offer this ability currently, but as far as we can tell, Wahoo is the first GPS bike computer to offer native control. The service is said to work with GoPro Hero 9 and newer, at least once it releases later this year.

Next up is the addition of Smart Light Control. This update allows ANT+ compatibility to be controlled through your bike computer, either to adjust the light mode or turn the light on and off. Further, lights can be turned on and off automatically at the start and end of the ride as the computer starts and ends a ride. This update will be available immediately.

Swifties in the room rejoice! Wahoo has finally added a feature called Music Control. The new screen option provides audio playback options including play/pause, skip, and volume adjustment so you can keep All Too Well (10 Minute Version) on repeat. This update will be available immediately as well.
It should be noted that none of the Elemnt computers can store music, this is just to display what audio is streaming from your phone.

Wahoo has also expanded its training plan integrations, allowing platforms like Humango FinalSurge, Join, and Nolio to push their workouts to a user’s Wahoo computer. These options join Wahoo Systm and TrainingPeaks for pushing workouts directly to the Element computers and are available now.

Last up is a new Dark Mode option, which aims to improve data visibility in low-light conditions. It’s a small update but should be helpful for folks who ride late at night.
Wahoo says that all of these new features are available now on the latest Wahoo Element Roam and Elemnt Bolt v2 computers. We’ve reached out to see which of these features are available on first-generation Roam and Bolt computers.
