Blush is the best. Sure, it can be a bummer to have a face that flushes so easily it betrays your every emotion. But being able to control the rosiness of your cheeks with your own product application is something different. Especially when the formula is giving your skin some love, too.
Take Saie Dew Blush, for example. With its buildable pigments and super-workable formula, it long-ago found itself in the viral product hall of fame. It’s also one of Byrdie’s favorite liquid blushes, and the kind of product that offers comfort with the simple knowledge that it’s in your makeup bag. Need to glow and warm up that complexion a little? Just dab and blend.
Now, the brand is imparting some of the same wisdom for the powder people with the February 27 launch of SuperSuede Baked Powder Blush—their first ever powder blush. Ahead, everything to know about the plush new formula.

The Inspiration
When you have a great idea and the technology to make it happen, it’s only fair to give the people the blush of their dreams. And if you think about how long we’ve been loving Dew Blush, paired with the fact that this is Saie’s first powder blush, it’s obvious it needed to happen.

“SuperSuede starts out as a bouncy, pliable mound of dough that gets hand-whipped, expertly placed onto a terracotta disc, gently tucked in with cloth, and then baked using time-honored Italian techniques. Fresh out of the oven, or ‘forno,’ SuperSuede emerges,” shares the brand.
You can grab the pretty compact in six richly pigmented colors: the cool-toned baby pink Bella, fuchsia Amore, berry Grazie, soft rose Mia, bright coral Stella, and warm golden brown Ciao.

The Formula
Billed as “super plush,” the talc-free formula is both luxurious and lightweight. The recipe (I like that bread loaf imagery, we’ll stick with it) includes jojoba esters and plant-derived squalane and glycerin for a softer than soft texture. Silica and mica, both ethically sourced, aid in the diffused color payoff and natural-blurred finish.

The Review
Bella Cacciatore
“I am a huge blush girl, but I haven’t used a classic powder in years as I’ve been caught up in the cream craze. However, I’m obsessed with the Saie Dew Blushes, so I had to give these new powders a try. The formula is so silky smooth, and they glide right on without skipping or blotchiness. They have a really pretty radiance to them but aren’t quite shimmery, and they don’t get caky throughout the day. I’m wearing the baby pink shade Bella here (for obvious reasons), and I found I had to build it up a little for my desired intensity. However, the other shades are way more pigmented, and a little goes a long way. I thought I was over powders for good, however I’ll definitely be adding these into my rotation.” —Bella Cacciatore, news editor
