Over a decade later, the brand is even innovating on its own innovations. From new takes on the beloved Glossier You perfume to a bar soap version of the OG Milky Jelly Cleanser, this brand knows that a good thing canbe made even greater—as long as the original good thing can still be enjoyed, too.

For their latest trick, Glossier launched their skin-illuminating Futuredew in a solid, travel-friendly stick format. Futuredew Solid, which officially joined the family on February 18 after a limited-edition run during the holiday season, features the same exact skin-conditioning ingredients and light-reflecting minerals as it’s oil-serum hybrid sister.

The Inspiration

The original Futuredew was invented first and foremost because Glossier fans were begging for a facial oil. (“We wanted to be able to bottle up ‘Glossier skin,’” the brand’s founder, Emily Weiss, told Byrdie when it launched in October 2019)

This time around, they wanted to offer that same natural glow enhancement they discovered with the original formulation—and the skincare benefits that come along with it—in an easily transportable format. The point here is ease of use; don’t your purse lip products deserve a little skincare friend?

The Formula

As marvelously creamy as its liquid counterpart, Futuredew Solid features the same lineup of well thought out ingredients and light-reflecting minerals, which are are dispersed through the formula to immediately boost your skin’s radiance.

Concentrated plant-based oils like the beloved squalane melt when they touch your skin, locking in moisture. Meanwhile, sea fennel extract and vitamin E acetate both take the long road to boost your skin’s glow over time while neutralizing free radicals.

All in, the formula was clinically proven to give skin a dewy glow for up to 12 hours. It was also dermatologist-tested (and shown to be suitable for all skin types) and ophthalmologist-tested (it’s perfectly safe for contact lens wearers and sensitive eyes).

“I’m a big fan of the original Futuredew formula, but I don’t necessarily want that glassy sheen cast across my entire face (especially in oilier areas like my forehead and chin). The Futuredew Solid is exactly what I’ve been waiting for—it lets me pinpoint the dew factor on my cheekbones and nose, and I dare say it’s even glowier than the oil-serum hybrid. In fact, it’s glowier than most traditional highlighter sticks that I’ve tried sans the skincare benefits. Even my husband—who failed to notice when I got curtain bangs—commented that my skin looked ‘wet in a good way.’ One word of advice—let this absorb into the skin for 5-10 minutes before you judge the texture; it’s a touch tacky on application, but settles into a much more wearable slick.”

How to Use Futuredew Solid

If you’re ready to glow, apply the stick to the high points of your face (the cheekbones, bridge of the nose, and brow bone are all fair game). You can use it as the final step in your skincare routine if that’s all you’re doing that day, or wait a little longer and layer it over your makeup.
