Flawless-looking face beats call for high-quality application tools, and the makeup brushes you use to paint your face can either make or break your look. As a beauty editor, I’ve gone through tons of brushes, and I always run into the same problems: the brushes start to shed, they create streaks, or they absorb too much product, and then I have to keep dipping them into more product and end up with a cakey-looking finish. So, after seeing a few of my favorite beauty influencers rave about Morphe’s new Reimagined brush collection on TikTok, I knew I had to try it. Plus, I’ve been a Morphe fan for a while and never got to try the highly-lauded Morphe x Ariel brush collab, so what better time than now to try some new brushes?!

The re-launch includes 34 complexion and eye brushes, plus sponges, powder puffs, and curated sets. What immediately caught my attention, though, is the “antibacterial” claim because I truly am lazy when it comes to cleaning my makeup brushes, so anything that will help me keep them bacteria-free is a major plus. The bristles come treated with silver ion, a naturally derived antimicrobial technology known to have antibacterial properties. They are crafted to last during daily makeup routines—meaning no fraying, shedding, or streaking.

How I Used Them

I decided to try out the makeup brushes while doing my everyday glam, and I only ended up using 10 of them, so I recommend getting the Best of Blends 8-Piece Face & Eye Brush Set if you don’t plan on frequently doing extravagant glam looks. I loved the sleek and smooth touch of the handles; they feel very high-quality. The best part is that if you’re ever confused about which brush to use, each one comes labeled with the makeup product it’s intended for.

The first brush I used was the “M133” to blend out concealer under my eyebrows and under-eyes. I loved how dense the bristles felt, and it blended the concealer seamlessly into my skin. The small and precise shape of the brush also made it great for spot concealing. Next, I went in with the “M104” foundation brush to apply tinted moisturizer, and I noticed that the bristles felt soft and didn’t absorb too much product. I then went through the rest of my routine using a mix of brushes and achieved pretty impressive results. My makeup gave me “second skin,” thanks to how well the brushes blended each product, and I didn’t experience any tugging or shedding.

How Well Did They Perform?

Overall, I’m very happy with how these brushes performed, and they are definitely going to be part of my daily makeup routine from now on. I do have to note that even though the bristles are antibacterial, that doesn’t mean you should not clean them. If you use your brushes often, I recommend washing them routinely, and we’ve got a step-by-step guide on how to clean your makeup brushes here.
