On January 3, Glossier’s first launch of the year will finally be available after plenty of social media teasing: The Black Cherry Collection. Instead of kicking off the year with an innovative new SKU (I’m sure there will be plenty to come and, to be fair, they already did that a couple weeks ago with their new Shadow Sticks), the beloved beauty brand decided to lean into some of their tried and true products with a new flavor. It’s like the message that your 2025 vision board is sending: Same me, but a little… different. Sweeter. Bolder. Juicier.

Available both as a set and individually, the collection includes a limited-edition black cherry Cloud Paint blush, Balm Dotcom lip balm, Lip Line lip liner, and No. 1 Pencil eyeliner—plus a cute little cherry lock so you can commemorate the set long after you hit pan. The Inspiration

Developed as “an ode to the artistry of personal expression” the Black Cherry Collection ables customers to craft an oh-so-Glossier monochrome makeup look using all of their favorite products. “This collection was inspired by the dynamic, ripening colors of black cherries, capturing every stage of the fruit’s journey—from tart to sweet,” shared the brand on Instagram. Expect a range of red shades to represent these stages, from sheer juicy red to deep burgundy.

It’s also worth noting that, from perfume to hair color and celeb manicures, cherry is hot right now. Glossier fans, who have been begging for a return of their beloved OG Cherry Balm Dotcom for a long time, know this all too well.

The Products

Whether the focus is on the scent or the color, black cherry’s impact is obvious in all of these products. But the brand didn’t just slap some darker pigments in their go-tos and call it a day—each variation is thoughtful.

For instance, the brand’s cult-favorite Balm Dotcom was crafted to capture the essence of Amarena black cherries in its smell and taste; you’ll find notes of crispy almond cookies and cherry liqueur (plus a sheer burgundy red tint) when you apply.

Lip Line in Black Cherry is less about taste and more about look. The deep burgundy shade “mirrors the plumpness and sweetness of cherries as they accumulate sugars and deepen in color.” Isn’t that a phrase you want to apply to your lips, too? Similarly, the No. 1 Pencil lets you craft your ideal eye look with that rich shade. You know how the addition of a cherry can make any dessert… adorable? That’s your makeup, and a swipe of this shimmering, long-wearing liner is the ideal accessory.
