Viral beauty products are a funny thing. Some of them are a flash in the pan, getting their 15 minutes of fame for a gimmicky application method or trendy color and then fading into obscurity. But some of them stick around as bonafide icons. Kosas Revealer Concealer is the latter.

Since launching in 2020, the concealer has become a favorite of the “clean girl” set, and appears in thousands of videos on TikTok—including many a Hailey Bieber tutorial—and one is even sold every 19 seconds. The creamy formula, high coverage, and natural finish have made it a go-to for covering redness, under-eyes, and blemishes for all skin types.

The brand has since expanded the Revealer family to include a dewy foundation (my personal favorite for medium coverage and a glowy finish), and on January 9, the line is getting yet another addition: Kosas Revealer Extra Bright Color Corrector. The Product

Part of the Revealer Concealer’s appeal is that it’s so multi-use—it can be used under eyes, on blemishes, and even all over the face as a “foundation.” However, for this launch, Kosas’s founder, Sheena Zadeh, wanted something specifically for the under eye area. More particularly, she wanted something with a little more coverage. But instead of working on a thicker concealer—because thicker usually means drier—she settled on a color corrector to add extra brightness without any cake.

Revealer Extra Bright come in five shades: Magic, a pale pink for very light to light skin tones; Illusion, pink peach for light to medium skin tones; Fantasy, peach for light-medium to medium-deep skin tones; Alchemy, orange peach for medium-deep to deep skintones; and Supernatural, red peach for deep to rich-deep skin tones. It has a similar creamy base to the Revealer Concealer, so the two can layer seamlessly and easily without pilling or caking.

Just like all of the brand’s “tinted skincare,” Revealer Extra Bright is loaded with skincare benefits. In fact, it has double the amount of caffeine—to de-puff—double the hyaluronic acid—to plump and hydrate—and 10 (!) times the amount of peptides—to help smooth and firm—as the concealer formula.

“The inner corners of my eyes are a pretty deep-purple hue, so I’ve always opted for more peachy, tacky-textured concealers to help with color correction. Kosas’ shade Illusion is definitely the right shade of peach for me, but it’s also a much thinner, more workable texture than other color correctors I’ve used. I was able to blend it out with just my finger, and found that the consistency blends really nicely into my skin. It offers the perfect amount of color correction without actually looking like makeup, so it’s perfect for foundation-free days. I did find that with the thinner formula, it does dry fairly quickly—so be sure to pair it with a super hydrating eye cream and/or concealer to prevent emphasis on any fine lines.”
