What do me, Zendaya, and Lorde have in common? Probably not much, save for the fact that we’re all devoted clients of Sofie Pavitt, celebrity esthetician and New York’s go-to “acne whisperer.” While it’s tricky to score an appointment with Pavitt herself (a perk of the job I don’t take lightly), thanks to her namesake skincare brand, Sofie Pavitt Face, everyone can have a taste of her skin-clearing magic.

Since launching with the Mandelic Clearing Serum in 2023, Pavitt has created a carefully curated line of solution-focused products, like her targeted acne mask and innovative frozen toner pods. And on May 12, a new bombshell enters the villa: Fridge to Face, a cooling, soothing face mist for those with acne and beyond.

Ahead, everything you need to know about the cryotherapy-inspired treatment, plus my honest review.

The Inspiration

As always, Pavitt was most inspired by the wants and needs of the clients at her NYC studio.
“[They were] already huge fans of the Sofie Pavitt Face Nice Ice Frozen Toner Pods, so we wanted to create a cryotherapy product that could be used on the go or taken on trips if there wasn’t access to a freezer,” she explains.

Versatility was top of mind when Pavitt was dreaming up the mist. “There are so many awesome mists available on the market, but I was always looking for something that could be used as a cooling element as well as a refresher throughout the day,” she says. “Fridge to Face also has blemish defense technology, so it will actively work at creating a shield on the skin to prevent breakouts. I wanted a mist that had multiple benefits and I love the end result.”

“I like to use it after cleansing, before my Sofie Pavitt Face Mandelic Clearing Serum followed by SPF or moisturizer,” she explains. “I then use it throughout the day before and after working out, or anytime my skin needs a pick me up or refresh. Its great over make up too.”

The Formula

Pavitt loves hypochlorous acid sprays to help flight breakouts, but notes that the ingredient can actually disrupt the rest of your skincare. Instead, she used a blend of her favorite blemish-fighters to create a refreshing mist you can use anytime in your routine.

The mist is powered by a post-biotic complex to defend against breakouts. “Panthenol hydrates, soothes, reduces redness, and strengthens the skin barrier, while niacinamide brightens, controls oil, evens tone, reduces redness, and protects against environmental damage,” says Pavitt. “There’s also a cooling agent that provides a refreshing sensation when applied that’s next level.”

Like all Sofie Pavitt Face products, it was of utmost importance that the mist was non-comedogenic and safe to use on acne-prone skin. It’s also hypoallergenic, derm-tested, fragrance-free, and vegan.

My Review

Bella Cacciatore

“I am kind of a face mist hater. Yes, they feel lovely, but what are they actually doing for my skin? But if anyone could turn me into a convert, it’s Sofie Pavitt—my routine is about 90% her products at this point. Fridge to Face has also earned a permanent spot in my routine. I use the formula as a blemish-fighting toner morning and night, and I’ve definitely noticed my pimples (and overall skin) are calmer and less red since adding it to my lineup. But the best part is the cooling effect it instantly delivers to my skin—it really feels like a blast of cool air from the fridge. I can already tell it will be a must after sweaty summer commutes.”
