“Mouskatool” is four Chicago rappers collecting their adversaries’ tongues and wearing them as necklaces. Over bass thumps and piano clinks, the women relay battle stories with equal parts hilarity and venom, issuing a warning to anyone who wants to tussle next: “I feel like Django with my switch/I wet a bitch up like a pool,” Mello Buckzz boasts. Each verse is an electrifying showcase of persona. The gruff-voiced Kashh Mir sounds like she’s being physically held back as she snarls for a nemesis to do a vaginal health check before coming for her: “Check yo piss!” Never has a play on Mickey Mouse Clubhouse—“Miska, Muska, Mouskatool”—sounded so threatening.

With artists releasing songs at a fast and furious pace, it’s difficult for the average hip-hop head to keep track of it all—no matter how tapped in they are. That’s why we created The Ones, a daily post to highlight the song you need to hear.
