Key Takeaways

  • Hailey Beiber’s brand Rhode just dropped its new Glazing Mist.
  • The hydrating mist contains glow-boosting ingredients like ceramides, beta-glucan, and panthenol.
  • I love it for the instant glazed finish and refreshing feel.

As I was sweating buckets on the subway this morning—temps are predicted to reach 101 degrees in New York—all I could think about was jumping in an ice-cold pool. While that is out of the question today, at least I have the skincare version of taking a mid-day dip: face mist. In fact, I have a brand new one to play with, courtesy of one Miss Hailey Bieber.

After months of teasing (as is her way), Rhode announced it’s new Glazing Mist earlier this month, and on June 24, it’s finally available to shop. Billed as a hydrating mist that deliver’s Bieber’s signature glazed glow anytime, anywhere, it comes just in time for the heatwave sweeping the nation. Ahead, all the details on the new mist, plus my honest review.

The Formula

Just like the rest of the brand’s skincare lineup, the Glazing Mist is all about hydration and glow. Glazing Mist was developed as “a hydrating face spray for instant glazed skin wherever you go.” You can use it as a first step in your skincare routine, over your makeup to add some radiance back in, or whenever you skin needs a glowy little pick-me-up throughout the day.

“Glazing Mist is a superfine spray that hydrates and refreshes for a next-level glowy finish. It provides clinically proven hydration and nourished, supple skin on the go—perfect for throwing in your purse, gym bag, car, or suitcase,” explains the brand. “The formula has added benefits with continued daily use. It includes magnolia extract, an antioxidant that helps purify skin to help it feel more balanced, clarified, and calm over time.”

In addition to the magnolia extract, the formula relies on a ceramide trio to hydrate, smooth, and strengthen the skin’s barrier. There’s also beta-glucan, a humectant that provides both immediate and long-lasting hydration. Panthenol, of vitamin B5 fame, rounds out the formula to soothe and comfort skin, perfect for this heat.

The mist is cruelty-free, vegan, gluten-free, fragrance-free, dermatologist-tested, ophthalmologist-tested, and has received the Seal of Acceptance from the National Eczema Association. It’s safe for both sensitive skin and the acne-prone girlies like myself.

My Review

For me, a face mist is never going to rock my world. But, they are a nice little extra to have on hand, especially in the summer months. While I don’t think the Glazing Mist is a must-have in your routine, it is a really, really nice mist if you’re in the market for something extra.

Firs thing’s first, I love the packaging, as usual. It’s sleek and cool, and I would love to show it off in a What’s In My Bag. The actual mister itself is also fabulous, it shoots out in a super fine cloud of mist that gently drenches your skin. It feels super refreshing, and doesn’t mess with your makeup application.

While I can’t speak to the longterm hydration, I do think this is a nice step for a little extra hydration. Some mists make my skin feel dryer, but this one does leave behind a super light layer of moisture. I like using it as a hydrating toner right after washing my face, or over makeup once I start to get crusty. What sets this mist apart is definitely the glazed finish it leaves behind. It has a little body to it, so it doesn’t just evaporate, it leaves some dew behind that has such a pretty look on the skin. It’s definitely a shortcut to Hailey’s signature glow, and I’ll be keeping it in my bag (and my fridge) all summer long.
