Key Takeaways

  • Summer Fridays just made its foray into makeup with the Blush Butter Balms.
  • The blushes come in six shades and have a skincare-powered formula.
  • They gave our editors a pretty glow and natural flush.

It’s hard to give summer movie trailer energy via the written word, but I’m going to try. From the brilliant minds behind your favorite summer 2025 beauty blockbuster, Pink Guava Butter Balm, a new—and equally sweet—product is coming.

This is a love story. The colors are gorgeous. It stars you and Summer Fridays, and you will be blushing.

On Tuesday, July 8, Summer Fridays is launching Blush Butter Balm, a “buttery-soft blush that melts seamlessly into skin” for a healthy flush and long-lasting hydration. Keep reading for all the info on the pretty new product, including our honest review.

The Inspiration

When you have your butters down, you might as well spread that softness any way you can. Blush was an obvious next step for the brand, who know how to consistently thrill their clientele.

Designed for on-the-go moments, the sweet compact these blushes come in includes a built-in mirror. (These are the brilliant minds behind the Jet Lag Mask and coordinating transportable eye patches, so none of this is surprising. Still exciting, though.)

The Formula

“Effortlessly blendable” and created with a skincare-first philosophy, the blushes come in six shades: Soft Strawberry (a neutral pink), Pink Sunset (a warm, peachy pink), Sweet Rosé (a cool baby pink), Toasted Terracotta (a warm rose), Dusty Rose (cool-toned and exactly what it sounds like), and Berry Spritz (a neutral berry).

The non-comedogenic and fragrance-free formula is powered by “a nourishing blend of butters, peptides, and ceramides.” Key ingredients include a fatty-acid enriched trio of creamy butters (shea, mango seed, and illipe) that work to create a creamy and hydrating texture. Meanwhile, hyaluronic acid “acts as a moisture magnet to plump out fine lines” and those ceramides work to to maintain hydration and strengthen your skin’s moisture barrier.

“I love a cream blush and I love Summer Fridays, so I couldn’t wait to put this launch to the test. It has the creamy, dewy formula I would expect from the brand, and blends so easily into my skin with a brush or fingers. I tried the shade Pink Sunset, a pretty peachy pink. I like a lot of blush (some might say too much), so this was a little sheer for my taste, but it’s great for a more natural look. I’ll definitely be reaching for it on minimal makeup days this summer.”

“I used Summer Fridays Blush Butter Balm in the shade Sweet Rose, and I can say this will be my every day summer shade. It’s just the right amount of pigment to add the perfect flush to my skin, and it’s super hydrating which I love as someone who experiences dry skin.”

“I have always been a fan of the dewy finish of Summer Fridays products. So it only feels right that their first foray into blush be in a matching format. I was immediately drawn to the shade Soft Strawberry as it felt like the perfect subtle flush. For how creamy and blendable the formula is, I was pleasantly surprised by the strong initial pigment payoff. It melted into my full face of makeup and felt light on my cheeks. I can definitely see myself mixing colors throughout the summer to create a customized, glowy look.”

“I love a creamy blush that melts into the skin and Summer Fridays’ new Blush Butter Balm does just that. The Berry Spritz shade adds a pretty natural flush to my cheeks and the buildable formula puts me in control of how much or little I want to apply. The formula’s blend of butters, hyaluronic acid and ceramides provides hydration to my skin so I not only look dewy but my skin is hydrated. I will definitely be throwing the cute compact into my purse this summer for touch-ups on the go.”
