      In the pursuit of glass skin, anything goes. Be it a salmon sperm facial or a $500 retinol serum, I’ve submitted my face to it all in the name of beauty journalism. But a few months ago, I finally cracked the code when I tried out Pat McGrath’s glass skin mask in all of its glistening glory. The caveat? Even the smallest movement\u2014laughing, talking, eating\u2014would cause the mask the peel off.\n<\/p>\n

      So while the mask made for an extremely Instagrammable moment (and is most practical for pro and editorial use), it hasn’t made its way into my everyday routine. But fortunately for us, the queen of glass skin has launched a more wearable version: the Glass 001 Legendary Glow Setting Spray. The formula promises glazed, glassy, wearable goodness in a bottle\u2014and I put it to the test. Ahead, more on Pat McGrath’s newest and buzziest launch, the Glass 001 Legendary Glow Setting Spray, plus my honest review.\n<\/p>\n

      Think of the Glass 001 Legendary Glow Setting Spray as the ready-to-wear spray equivalent of Pat McGrath’s viral glass skin mask. “The allure of glass skin has captivated makeup lovers everywhere, and I wanted to make that high-shine dream a reality for all,” Pat McGrath said in a press release.\n<\/p>\n

      With a dewy, lacquered finish, the spray claims to lock makeup in place for up to 16 hours. It features hydrating ingredients like aloe leaf, black tulip extract, and cucumber extract to help refresh the skin. Retailing for $38, the spray is available on patmcgrath.com and sephora.com.\n<\/p>\n

      How to Use It <\/span><\/h2>\n

      The genius of this spray lies in its versatility. “This setting spray empowers anyone to create their own radiant masterpiece\u2014whether it\u2019s subtle everyday elegance or full-throttle glamour, all day long,” McGrath said. One layer delivers a healthy post-facial sheen; six deliver a surreal, mirror-like glaze. One spray fits all.\n<\/p>\n

      To apply the spray, make sure to shake well and hold the spray at arm’s length, misting in a circular motion. For even more dewiness, pause 30 seconds between applications to layer the product. For more precise application, McGrath recommends spraying the mist directly into the palm of the hand and using the fingertips to dab the product into the skin where needed.<\/p>\n

      My Review <\/span><\/h2>\n

      Is there a such thing as too <\/em>dewy? In search of the answer, I tried on 50 coats of the Pat McGrath spray. The first layer gave my skin a beautifully subtle touch of dew. By the third, my skin had that effortless glow you get when your makeup’s been marinating for an hour or two. <\/em>The fifth layer was by far my favorite\u2014the perfect balance of glow and hydration without tipping into sweaty territory; wearable, but still ethereal. As my skin got progressively dewier, I couldn’t help but notice: my makeup held up perfectly, and thankfully, I could yap as much as I wanted to without ruining my makeup.\n<\/p>\n

      Even on the 50th spray, I didn’t notice any creasing or greasiness. That’s the thing about this mask: it’s impossible to overdo it. I wouldn’t recommend applying 50 coats, but my point is that this isn’t a spray to be intimidated by. Admittedly, I tend to stay away from glowy setting sprays because they more often than not leave my skin feeling like a slip-and-slide by the time I leave the house. This isn’t that: this sets your makeup while gracing it with the most elegant veil of dewiness\u2014and thanks to the buildable nature of this spray, the level of dewiness is entirely customizable.\n<\/p>\n

      The Glass 001 Legendary Glow Setting Spray doesn’t make your makeup invincible, but it does give your makeup that lit-from-within glow that stays put throughout the night without feeling heavy on the skin. On my longer nights out, I loved layering my blurring, mattifying mists with this spray on top. In a world of dewy setting sprays that often do too much, this one gets it just right\u2014it’s buildable, breathable, and, just like Pat herself, legendary.\n<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
