Around the holidays, there seem to be two camps of people when it comes to the art of presentation. There are those who take enormous pride in the pairing of paper and ribbon, making tidy work of taping and grand work of gussying up in order to wow the recipient. And then there are those who blindly claw at the wrapping to get at the prize, never pausing to admire. But what if there\u2019s a third route\u2014where the presents themselves are too handsome to wrap, saving everyone the effort? (Saving trees, too.)<\/p>\n

That is what unites this collection of gifts, suited for the aesthetically inclined, the environmentally attuned, and the frankly impatient. For her limited-edition trio of face oils, Linda Rodin borrowed whimsical patterns (birds in flight, sumptuous florals) from her own stash of vintage scarves, in a departure from her usual crisp, classic white boxes. The recycled-paper tubes for Daughter of the Land\u2019s oils feature serene color-fields reminiscent of mountain-meets-sky vistas\u2014a nod to founder Ashley Spierer\u2019s commitment to organic and fair-trade sourcing whenever possible.<\/p>\n

Kahina\u2019s Essaouira perfume, inspired by the salt-sprayed village in Morocco, riffs on blue-and-white tile-work; the gilded circle on the front of Studio Cue\u2019s Golda soap offers a foretaste of what\u2019s inside (a spherical, shimmering beauty scented with antimicrobial hiba wood oil). And for her small-batch skin-care range, Linn\u00e9, Jenna Levine set calligraphy brush to paper, sketching a shiso leaf and enlarging it for featherlight graphics that reveal the hand of the maker. With a no-wrap holiday season, the mantra might as well be this: Waste not, want<\/em>.<\/p>\n
