There’s nothing like slipping a silk dress, camisole, or top on before a night out. The fabric glides across your skin with a soft sensuality, enveloping you in a whisper of luxury. Why wouldn’t<\/em> you want to wear silk everywhere? Selena Gomez looked to the slinky fabric for inspiration for her 2025 Emmy Awards manicure, which was as light and airy as a simple silk slip.<\/p>\n

As usual, Gomez’s Emmys nails were the work of nail artist Tom Bachik. Instead of matching her nails to her custom Louis Vuitton gown and painting them a bright cherry red, Gomez and Bachik landed on a \u201csophisticated silk\u201d set reminiscent of silk lingerie. Gomez’s nails were filed into a short squoval shape as to not compete with the vivid red dress. Bachik prepped them with a coat of CND’s Shellac Base Coat before applying two even, thin coats of the brand’s Shellac Gel Polish in the sheer neutral shade Silk Thread. The color is so subtle that at first glance, it looks like Gomez isn’t wearing any polish at all, but the delicate color creates the most flawless illusion of naked nails.<\/p>\n

To finish, Bachik applied a few drops of CND’s Solar Oil to Gomez’s cuticles for a \u201cfresh, youthful glow” befitting her handfuls of diamonds, including her stunning marquise diamond engagement ring. And voila! The Only Murders in the Building<\/em> star was ready for her big night, with a simple but gorgeous manicure perfect for any occasion. (Like maybe a wedding?)<\/p>\n

Gomez’s Emmys nails couldn’t be further from her previous manicure, which was also crafted by Bachik. Just a week ago, she teased a new Rare Beauty product wearing a very autumnal manicure indeed, which we deemed \u201ctoasted pumpkin\u201d due to its burnt orange-red hue. We’d love to know what else Gomez and Bachik have on their fall nail moodboard, because each color is better than the last!<\/p>\n
