How does the saying go? In a world of face-lifting, extra-tight buns, be Jennifer Lawrence<\/strong>‘s messy updo? Something like that. And it’s not that I have anything against the super-duper tight, slick styles we’ve been seeing so much lately, but if I’m being honest, I don’t have the patience for that level of no-hair-out-of-place perfect. I much prefer something that allows for a little flexibility, like the look JLaw wore to the Die, My Love<\/em> screening at the Rome Film Festival.<\/p>\n

Lawrence, who stars in the film based on the novel of the same name, hit the red carpet in the dreamiest slouchy ensemble straight off the Dior Spring 2026 runway (where she sat front-row): an oversized taupe cashmere sweater with a dramatic, black satin color and cuffs paired with flouncy, floor-length, bubble-hem, tulle skirt that draped over velvety black heels. As fancy as the look feels, it also has a casual cool-girl vibe, and you can say the same thing about her hairstyle’s versatility.<\/p>\n

From behind, we can see that her hairstylist gave her a French twist with a bit of a\u2026 well, a twist. The updo has that classic French twist fold, but it’s topped with a messy bun. Instead of a super smooth surface, the ends are allowed to poke out a bit as they please.<\/p>\n

From the front, we see Lawrence’s now-iconic slightly wavy bangs, which transition into face-framing, wispy tendrils. The base of her hair embraces bumps and texture instead of striving for uniform smoothness, creating a look that’s no less ideal for everyday wear than it is for a major movie premiere.<\/p>\n

No bangs? No problem. The windswept feel and top-knot\/French twist combo also work wonderfully without fringe or even tendrils. Just keep it a little loose for that effortless yet elegant look.<\/p>\n
