The year is 2023, and <\/span>Amelia Gray<\/span><\/a> has never worked with <\/span>Miu Miu<\/span><\/a> before. Though the rising model already has stacks of high-profile clients under her belt, a co-sign from <\/span>Miuccia Prada<\/span><\/a>\u2019s little sister brand has eluded her. That was, until, a little help from a vintage Drew Barrymore campaign.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ll never forget it, because it happened so quickly,\u201d says the model, speaking from her home in Los Angeles. \u201cI was at my friend\u2019s house in New York during the winter, we were making mood boards. We would just go to Casa Magazines and buy a bunch of magazines, Pinterest a bunch of things on our iPads, print them out, whatever.\u201d It was then that Gray came across a SS95 Miu Miu campaign starring Barrymore \u2013 all pastel pinks and platinum pin-up curls. \u201cI printed it out, put it on my board, and I forgot about it,\u201d Gray continues. \u201cAbout a month later, I got a call saying \u2018Miu Miu wants to do an exclusive with you\u201d, and I literally thought that someone was fucking with me.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Gray made her Miu Miu runway debut on the AW23 catwalk in a pair of bedazzled red pants, the 63rd look of the brand\u2019s infamous \u2018librarian chic\u2019 show. Over the years Gray continues to be a go-to face for the brand, returning for various catwalks and campaigns, and now the pair have solidified their partnership even further, with the model-of-the-moment curating her very own wardrobe of Miu Miu favourites for the label\u2019s Select series (which you can browse <\/span>here<\/span><\/a>).<\/span><\/p>\n

In the convo below, we quizzed Gray on her favourite pieces in her Miu Miu wardrobe, her purpose beyond modelling, and the niche knowledge you didn\u2019t know she possessed.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The best piece of advice I\u2019ve ever been given is from my mom, and that is to be kind to everybody and work hard. It sounds clich\u00e9, but it\u2019s very important.<\/span><\/p>\n

My childhood dream first was to be an astronaut, and then the second one was to be a model, so at least I\u2019m living one. But fun fact, my grandfather \u2013 my dad\u2019s dad \u2013 actually was one of the main rocket scientists for Apollo 11, the first rocket to the moon. I grew up fascinated by it, but my fascination switched from being an astronaut to being a supermodel once I met Cindy Crawford. But I\u2019m still trying to be an astronaut though!<\/span><\/p>\n

E IS FOR\u2026ENDGAME. WHAT IS YOUR ULTIMATE GOAL?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I think we get so caught up in surface level things in terms of goals, whether it be, for me, walking runways, shooting campaigns, being on magazine covers. But underneath all of that, what is the actual end goal? I think I\u2019m learning that my goal is just really simple: happiness, fulfillment, love, family, and just making change in whatever way I can.<\/span><\/p>\n

Goop pizza. I\u2019ve been spending a lot of time in LA so it\u2019s Goop\u2019s \u2018Pepperoni Pots\u2019 pizza. I\u2019m not sure what kind of crack cocaine Gwyneth put in that pizza, but I\u2019m addicted to it.<\/span><\/p>\n

G IS FOR\u2026GOD. DO YOU HAVE FAITH OR SPIRITUAL PRACTICE?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I\u2019m very spiritual, but I think recently, as I dive deeper into my spiritual practice and understand all different types of practices and religions, it all comes down to one thing that is greater than us. In the past, I had a stigma around \u2018religion versus spirituality\u2019, but I\u2019m learning that it\u2019s the same thing. Essentially, it\u2019s something to have faith in.<\/span><\/p>\n

H IS FOR\u2026HOUSEWIFE. WHICH IS YOUR FAVOURITE LISA RINNA BEVERLY HILLS MOMENT?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I\u2019m loving \u2018It\u2019s wackadoodle time.\u2019 I see that on my Tiktok quite often. Also, this is <\/span>so<\/span><\/em> horrible of me to say, but now seeing the clips of her exploding on Kim Richards and throwing the wine glass saying \u2018Don\u2019t talk about the husband\u2019 \u2013 that\u2019s pretty major. In the moment I was actually horrified, but now it\u2019s pretty major [l<\/em><\/span>aug<\/em>hs<\/span><\/em>] I\u2019ll never forget hearing about the Amsterdam trip when she got home. It was just Amsterdam in my household for the next two weeks after that.<\/span><\/p>\n

I IS FOR\u2026INTERNET. WHERE DO YOU SPEND THE MOST TIME ONLINE?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I\u2019m so bad online. I guess I just spend time on Instagram and TikTok, but\u00a0 I don\u2019t even enjoy it. I guess I enjoy TikTok when my feed is really interesting \u2013 a mixture of alien conspiracy theories, <\/span>the Schumann resonances<\/span><\/a> and psychics predicting things.<\/span><\/p>\n

J IS FOR\u2026JOKES. WHO MAKES YOU LAUGH THE MOST IN THE WORLD?<\/strong><\/p>\n

My boyfriend. I\u2019m actually the luckiest, because I am on the floor every single second with him, and I\u2019m convinced he\u2019s the reason I will live very long. My boyfriend and also my mom, but my mom\u2019s ironically funny after the fact. Sometimes I don\u2019t find my mom funny in the moment, whereas my boyfriend could have a full stand up comedy show and everybody would be laughing.<\/span><\/p>\n

I know a lot about health and wellness, and I think that\u2019s part of my mission in a way. The modelling industry is known to be one of the most\u00a0 unhealthy industries to be in. I think my \u2018thing\u2019 is to change the stigma behind starving yourself, being unhealthy, partying and just not being good to yourself. My whole shtick is completely different. Before I was a model, I was going to school for food and psychology, so I know a lot about health and wellness, muscle density, bone density, the amount of protein you\u2019re supposed to eat. I want to be that spokesperson in my industry.<\/span><\/p>\n

L IS FOR\u2026LOVE. WHAT\u2019S THE MOST ROMANTIC THING SOMEONE\u2019S EVER DONE FOR YOU?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I will say, I\u2019ve had some pretty shitty luck in love, but recently I\u2019ve really hit the jackpot with my man. We started dating on vacation, which was pretty unconventional. He took me on our first proper date once we were home and I didn\u2019t know where we were going. He was just like \u2018be ready at 7:30\u2019. He picks me up, we go to this lounge place, and all of a sudden we get walked to our table, and he rented out this whole cute little Omakase bar just for us, and it was so fun.<\/span><\/p>\n

After the Omakase dinner, this woman came and she was like, \u2018let me take you guys on a tour since you\u2019ve never been here.\u2019 The last room we get to is this beautiful room with all of these records, and then my boyfriend DJed me all of our favourite songs, and we just danced on this dancefloor alone for like, two hours. It was so fucking cute. And I literally cried in the bathroom because it was the cutest thing ever.<\/span><\/p>\n

It\u2019s when they did the SS95 campaign with Drew Barrymore. That was the first time I manifested Miu Miu. In 2020, I printed out that campaign, and I put it on my board, and I forgot about it. About a month later I got a call saying \u2018Miu Miu wants to do an exclusive with you\u2019, and I literally thought that someone was fucking with me.<\/span><\/p>\n

OK, I\u2019m going to say two animals. Because I know the healing and soothing effects that a dog can have on a human being, immediately dog is number one. Number two, I\u2019m extremely fascinated by cats at the moment. I used to be terrified of them, but I just feel like they\u2019re so intelligent. They\u2019re full ypsychic. Oh my god, this is actually such a prominent question for my life. It really all just comes down to meditation and breathing and staying calm.
