    The great Goldie Hawn turns 80 years old today, and while there is lots of wonderful fare from her filmography over the years that practically begs for a second (or third, or fourth) viewing\u2014Troop Beverly Hills<\/em>, anyone?\u2014today I was in the mood to see how the 1987 Garry Marshall film Overboard<\/em> holds up. So much teased hair and sexual tension, and my God, the \u201980s rich-girl outfits speak for themselves!<\/p>\n

    Without further ado, here\u2019s literally every thought I had while rewatching Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell in the original Overboard<\/em> (a.k.a. decidedly not<\/em> the mid 2018 remake).<\/p>\n

    1. God, opening-credit fonts in movies used to be so cool.<\/li>\n
    2. The people yearn for \u201980s graphic design!<\/li>\n
    3. Will I ever see ducks onscreen without thinking about Tony Soprano in his robe and boxers?<\/li>\n
    4. \u201cShould I buy a yacht?\u201d I muse as I Klarna my groceries.<\/li>\n
    5. I need to attend the Tillamook Country Crab Feed, stat.<\/li>\n
    6. God, only Goldie Hawn could make calling this beautiful watery scene a \u201ccesspool by the sea\u201d charming.<\/li>\n
    7. You don\u2019t hear guys calling their significant others \u201cdiddums\u201d so much anymore.<\/li>\n
    8. Ditto men shooting skeet.<\/li>\n
    9. Or do they still? Honestly, I don\u2019t know what men do.<\/li>\n
    10. Holy shit, this feathered hair on Kurt!<\/li>\n
    11. DOUBLE holy shit, this high-cut white bathing suit and glittery cover-up on Goldie!<\/li>\n
    12. I don\u2019t smoke, but maybe I still need an extra-long cigarette holder.<\/li>\n
    13. Should I decorate my new apartment exactly like Goldie\u2019s boat?<\/li>\n
    14. Kate Hudson really copy-pasted her mother\u2019s face, which I find adorable.<\/li>\n
    15. \u201cCaviar should be round and hard and of adequate size, and it should burst in your mouth at precisely the right moment.\u201d Tea.<\/li>\n

    22. I know I\u2019m not supposed to root for Goldie, but\u2026hell yeah, girl, push him the hell off that boat.<\/li>\n
    23. Why didn\u2019t I name my crusty little white dog Shiitake?<\/li>\n
    24. \u201cDarling, if you have a baby, you won\u2019t be the baby anymore.\u201d Truly the central paradox of my ongoing fertility musings.<\/li>\n

    32. I mean, I\u2019m no neuroscientist, but wouldn\u2019t she forget all of her traits and mannerisms in addition to her identity?<\/li>\n

    39. God, I forgot how insanely creepy the plot of this movie is.<\/li>\n

    41. Amazing delivery of the line, \u201cI just ate a bug.\u201d<\/li>\n
    42. Bro, if you sprung me from the hospital and told me my new job was to take care of four insanely loud young blond boys, I\u2019d just\u2026run into the night.<\/li>\n
    43. Why did all tween boys (including my cousins) have mullets in the late \u201980s?<\/li>\n
    44. This gingham dress is very Batsheva on Goldie.<\/li>\n
    45. \u201cA falsetto child?\u201d<\/li>\n
    46. I am LOLing.<\/li>\n
    47. Okay, not to be a triggered lib, but I\u2019m fast-forwarding through this creepy sex scene.<\/li>\n
    48. Aw, dream-Goldie\u2019s back in one of her insanely good outfits!<\/li>\n
    49. Using a blow dryer to defrost a freezer\u2026genuinely inspired.<\/li>\n
    50. Aw, I like these dirtbag dogs.<\/li>\n
    51. I don\u2019t hate the beat-up aqua truck, either.<\/li>\n
    52. \u201cTofutti Klein\u201d needs to be my new alias.<\/li>\n
    53. What, you don\u2019t have a go-to alias to bust out in emergencies?<\/li>\n
    54. This white T-shirt and denim flounce skirt is country-chic perfection.<\/li>\n
    55. Very Carrie Bradshaw in Suffern.<\/li>\n
    56. So weird that women don\u2019t like being abducted from the hospital and forced into domestic servitude, Kurt!<\/li>\n
    57. God, these kids suck.<\/li>\n
    58. Go off against standardized testing, Goldie!<\/li>\n
    59. Aw, she\u2019s starting to like the fellas against her will \ud83d\ude42<\/li>\n
    60. Romance is beginning to brew!<\/li>\n
    61. Camping with five males still sounds awful to me, but if it makes Goldie happy now for some reason, great.<\/li>\n
    62. Even Goldie\u2019s hair is settling into her new life. How sweet.<\/li>\n
