    I\u2019m a massive fan of lighting a pine-scented candle, topping my coffee with peppermint creamer that I can\u2019t digest properly, and digging into Netflix\u2019s holiday offerings, from Our Little Secret<\/em>, starring Lindsay Lohan, to\u2026Falling for Christmas<\/em>, starring Lindsay Lohan. (LiLo, you will always be seasonally famous!)<\/p>\n

    The latest movie on my yuletide film agenda, A Merry Little Ex-Mas<\/em>, stars Alicia Silverstone as an embittered ex who\u2014I\u2019m guessing\u2014gets some semblance of her groove back. Below, find (literally) every thought I had while watching A Merry Little Ex-Mas.<\/em><\/p>\n

    1. I love a silly little cartoon intro.<\/li>\n
    2. And I really<\/em> love Alicia Silverstone in a lead role.<\/li>\n
    3. Should I rewatch Clueless<\/em>?<\/li>\n
    4. Okay, I\u2019ll finish this first.<\/li>\n
    5. Alicia Silverstone\u2019s movie name is Kate, and she\u2019s an architect (iconic fake rom-com job) who fell for a small-town doctor named Everett.<\/li>\n
    6. Are there really small towns out there called Winterlight<\/em>?<\/li>\n
    7. Granted, I\u2019m from New York City, but come on.<\/li>\n
    8. Kate and Everett had kids and are getting divorced, and for some reason\u2026the mayor of Winterlight is presiding over the split?<\/li>\n
    9. Oh, she\u2019s not. She\u2019s just their friend. Sure.<\/li>\n
    10. \u201cConscious uncoupling\u201d reference!<\/li>\n
    11. Run Gwyneth her check, Netflix.<\/li>\n
    12. Sorry, is Kate\u2019s designated rom-com bestie\u2026Sabrina the Teenage Witch?<\/li>\n
    13. Alicia is really serving here, hair-wise.<\/li>\n
    14. Oh, okay, Kate\u2019s not an architect. She builds worm farms(?) and holds \u201ctiny open houses\u201d(??).<\/li>\n
    15. Gay grandpas! Slay.<\/li>\n
    16. Kate\u2019s daughter has a very nerdy English boyfriend named Nigel who\u2019s way too into Harry Potter<\/em>.<\/li>\n
    17. I like the little bows on Daughter\u2019s knit cap.<\/li>\n
    18. Oh God, Nigel\u2019s a Harry Potter<\/em> tour guide? Delete. Delete the whole man.<\/li>\n
    19. Oop, Everett is dating someone?<\/li>\n
    20. Already?<\/li>\n
    21. Spill the tea, gay grandpas!<\/li>\n
    22. We love an \u201cI feel\u201d statement, don\u2019t we, folks?<\/li>\n
    23. \u201cYou haven\u2019t stalked her on socials? What kind of an ex are you?\u201d LOL.<\/li>\n
    24. Okay, let\u2019s not hate on butter sculptures, movie. In the right county-fair context, they can be magical!<\/li>\n
    25. Oh shit, the new girlfriend is\u2026Jameela Jamil?<\/li>\n
    26. Okay, Kate, a little classist to be so against your son becoming a local firefighter!<\/li>\n
    27. I mean, yeah, this small town seems boring as hell, but whatever.<\/li>\n
    28. Okay, meta rom-com reference!<\/li>\n
    29. Can we get a moratorium on saying \u201chashtag\u201d aloud in movies and TV shows?<\/li>\n
    30. These kids kind of suck. Hang out with your single mom!<\/li>\n
    31. Speaking as a child of divorce, having clothes purchased for you by your dad\u2019s new girlfriend does<\/em> work from a warming-up-to-her perspective.<\/li>\n
    32. Shoutout to my Juicy tracksuit from 2005!<\/li>\n
    33. Hey, not to be a woke scold or anything, but why is literally everyone in this movie (except Jameela and one of the gay grandpas) white?<\/li>\n
    34. \u201cI hate \u2018I feels\u2019\u201d! Well, Everett, never become a lesbian. That\u2019s all I can say.<\/li>\n
    35. Should I learn to ski at 32 years old?<\/li>\n
    36. Ooh, Kate is indeed getting her groove back with Chet, a ripped and dumb-seeming Christmas tree salesman (or something). I love it.<\/li>\n

    38. I love how stupid this hot guy is.<\/li>\n
    39. Aw, and he\u2019s vegetarian! Or vegan! Just like Alicia IRL!<\/li>\n
    40. I\u2019m proud of Son for roasting Nigel as much as I would want to.<\/li>\n
    41. This game of exes\u2019 holiday sexual one-upmanship is getting weird.<\/li>\n
    42. Aw, apology time!<\/li>\n
    43. Who would possibly think their ex would want to hear that being a shitty husband previously has made them a better husband now? (Spoiler: a cishet man.)<\/li>\n
    44. Kate\u2019s crash-out is sooooooo justified, IMO.<\/li>\n
    45. Good for Kate for moving to Boston! Moms aren\u2019t the world\u2019s dumping ground!<\/li>\n
    46. If she ends up staying in this small town because of the magic of family and Christmas or whatever, I\u2019m going to be annoyed.<\/li>\n
