    \u201cI cry a lot but I am so productive, it\u2019s an art,\u201d Taylor Swift crooned on \u201cI Can Do It with a Broken Heart.\u201d Now we\u2019re seeing just what she means. Fresh off the launch of her new album, The Life of a Showgirl<\/em>, as well as the accompanying big-screen release, Taylor Swift: The Official Release Party of a Showgirl<\/em>, she\u2019s already back with a one-two punch: The End of an Era<\/em>, a new six-part, behind-the-scenes docuseries about the Eras Tour, and The Final Show<\/em>, a new concert film, which, unlike the Eras Tour<\/em> movie, will include The Tortured Poets Department<\/em> set in its entirety.<\/p>\n

    In the Disney+ trailer announcing both projects, we see Taylor being led to the stage in her glittering dress for the \u201cEnchanted\u201d set. \u201cPeople like to talk about phenomenons,\u201d she says in voiceover. \u201cAlmost as if it was pieces falling into place. As if it just happened.\u201d Cue flashes of rehearsal footage; Swift enjoying downtime with her mom and kissing her now-fianc\u00e9, Travis Kelce, backstage; boards with song titles on them; intense training sessions at the gym; costume changes; home videos of her as a little girl playing the piano with her grandma; and cameos from everyone from her cats to Sabrina Carpenter, Ed Sheeran, Florence Welch, and Gracie Abrams. \u201cWe have broken every single record you can break with this tour,\u201d she continues. \u201cThe only thing left is to close the book.\u201d<\/p>\n

    Fittingly, the trailer ends with Taylor running herself a bath. \u201cI\u2019ll not be able to get to sleep,\u201d she tells the camera, while wiping off her make-up and pulling off her fake eyelashes. \u201cI can\u2019t come down. I watch tons of TV, I eat room service in bed, I sign a box of 2,000 CDs, and then I\u2019m tired. Then we do the whole thing again.\u201d This kind of post-mayhem downtime is, of course, what inspired The Life of a Showgirl<\/em>\u2014and it\u2019s why Swift is literally in a bathtub on the cover of this album.<\/p>\n

    The Final Show<\/em> was directed by Glenn Weiss and filmed in Vancouver, while The End of an Era<\/em> was helmed by Don Argott, with Sheena M. Joyce co-directing. The former will be streaming from December 12, along with the first two episodes of the latter. After that, two episodes of the show will drop each week, ending on December 26. (And of course<\/em> Taylor announced this on October 13<\/em>.)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

    \u201cIt was the end of an era and we knew it,\u201d Swift wrote in a post announcing the projects on Instagram. \u201cWe wanted to remember every moment leading up to the culmination of the most important and intense chapter of our lives, so we allowed filmmakers to capture this tour and all the stories woven throughout it as it wound down. And to film the final show in its entirety.\u201d<\/p>\n

    The Disney log line promises \u201cunprecedented access\u201d and \u201can intimate look at Taylor\u2019s life,\u201d but just how close will fans be able to get? Will we see the development of the tour from its very inception, including how and why each song was chosen and what was left on the cutting-room floor? Will we get a glimpse of the making of The Tortured Poets Department<\/em> and The Life of a Showgirl<\/em>? And what about Swift\u2019s break-up with Joe Alwyn, brief relationship with Matty Healy, and whirlwind romance with Travis, all of which, confoundingly, occurred during Eras? Well, we\u2019ll find out in two months.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/article>\n
