A person from the plane’s cockpit is heard saying “Mayday, mayday, we are descending 10,000 feet per minute.”<\/p>\n

The person declares an “emergency” just seconds later, urgently reporting a descent of 20,000 feet per minute.<\/p>\n

“We’re going to crash into \u2060the ground” the voice from the cockpit says and then goes on to report that the descent was at 22,000 feet and the plane was banking 60 degrees.<\/p>\n

Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said that the crash occurred at 12.50 pm local time and described the incident as a “horrific tragedy.”<\/p>\n
