href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tag\/jannik-sinner\">Jannik Sinner<\/a> has made a \u201cvery smart\u201d decision by hiring Magnus Norman as his new coach.<\/p>\n<p>It was reported by <em>The Times<\/em> earlier this week <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tennis-news\/jannik-sinner-appoints-new-coach-atp-stars-wins-rafael-nadal-novak-djokovic-roger-federer\">that five-time Grand Slam singles champion Sinner will start working with Norman ahead of his 2027 campaign<\/a>, following the departure of long-time coach and mentor Darren Cahill.<\/p>\n<p>A former world No 2 and the 2000 French Open runner-up as a player, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tag\/magnus-norman\">Norman<\/a> is set to work alongside Simone Vagnozzi as part of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tag\/jannik-sinner\">Sinner\u2019s<\/a> team.<\/p>\n<p>Having officially retired from tennis in 2004, Norman initially coached Swedish compatriots Thomas Johansson and Robin Soderling, though he is best known for his long-time partnership with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tag\/stan-wawrinka\">Stan Wawrinka<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The Swede helped guided Wawrinka to a career-high ranking of world No 3 and helped the Swiss win three Grand Slam singles titles, with the 41-year-old triumphant at the 2014 Australian Open, 2015 French Open, and 2016 US Open.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tennis-news\/what-stan-wawrinka-said-retirement-farewell-swiss-indoors-basel\">With Wawrinka officially retiring from tennis earlier this week<\/a>, Norman\u2019s services have now been requested by Sinner, with the Italian already a world No 1 and a multiple-time Grand Slam champion.<\/p>\n<h3>ATP Tour News<\/h3>\n<p><a champion, believes that Sinner has made a wise choice.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMagnus Norman, I was very young when I came on tour and I was around him a little bit from a distance,\u201d said Clijsters, speaking on the <a rel=\"noopener nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/@LoveAllpodcast\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Love All Podcast<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c[He\u2019s] Very down to earth, kind, but very focused, disciplined, just humble, hardworking, just the type of person you want to have on your team, like he\u2019s all in for you.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHis tennis brain is great. It\u2019s not like I followed his tennis results on a weekly basis, but just to be around him and see how he would speak in press conferences, the way that he would work with Stan Wawrinka, he built a tennis academy called \u2018Good to Great\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLike he\u2019s doing a lot in the tennis world.
