Award-winning composer and skull-shattering guitar shredder Mick Gordon has given an update on the scheduled live performances of his Doom and Doom Eternal soundtracks, explaining in an interview with IGN at PAX Australia this past weekend that his appearance as headliner at the UK\u2019s RADAR festival in 2027 isn\u2019t merely intended as a one-off.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe two that we\u2019ve announced are this headline show for RADAR, which is going to be on August 1, 2027,\u201d said Gordon. \u201cThat\u2019s going to be me with a band and a live orchestra playing music from Doom and Doom Eternal and some other stuff. Then a few days later I\u2019m going to be in the Czech Republic playing the Brutal Assault Festival, which is in a medieval castle, which is so metal. That\u2019s with bands like Children of Bodom, Knocked Loose, and Humanity’s Last Breath. It’s like a really, really incredible 25,000-people metal festival.\u201d<\/p>\n

That all sounds great, but what if you happen to be one of the millions of Doom fans that can\u2019t make it to the UK or Europe in order to catch either of these two shows? Well, the good news is you might still get your chance to experience Mick\u2019s heavy metal magnificence on a live stage near you sometime in the not too distant future. <\/p>\n

\u201c[After the RADAR show was announced] I instantly started getting offers from the European metal festival circuit,\u201d said Gordon. \u201cMy agency and I are talking about doing this for the next two years. There are a number of [events] across the whole world that we\u2019re hoping to take this show [to]. So there\u2019s going to be a lot of news coming on that front.\u201d<\/p>\n

Gordon seems extremely excited to perform popular Doom tracks like Rip & Tear, BFG Division, and At Doom\u2019s Gate in front of a live festival audience, and promises an experience unlike a typical concert performance of a videogame soundtrack.<\/p>\n
