href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/mugler\"><span>Mugler<\/span><\/a><span>. In fact, in the brand\u2019s early days, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/thierry-mugler\"><span>Thierry Mugler<\/span><\/a><span> was a pioneer of futurism, dressing models in cyborgian looks long before it was popular to do so. \u201cI dreamed of creating another world, to my scale. One that was my own,\u201d the late French designer <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/fashion\/article\/55289\/1\/thierry-mugler-passed-away-died-kim-kardashian-cardi-b-beyonce-tribute-obituary\"><span>once said<\/span><\/a><span>. Since Portuguese creative director <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/tag\/miguel-castro-freitas\"><span>Miguel Castro Freitas<\/span><\/a><span> joined the brand a year ago, he has continued to build on the fantastical worlds that Mugler first created. As a result, he often goes viral with reinterpretations of Mugler\u2019s most provocative designs.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>At Castro Freitas\u2019 <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/ss26\"><span>SS26<\/span><\/a><span> debut, he presented\u00a0the first of a promised three-part runway series \u2013 <\/span><em><span>A Trilogy of Glorified Clich\u00e9s<\/span><\/em><span> \u2013 and got everyone talking with a slinky nude dress, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/fashion\/article\/68818\/1\/mugler-ss26-paris-fashion-week-pfw-miguel-castro-freitas-designer-debut-showgirl\"><span>held up by the model\u2019s own nipple rings<\/span><\/a><span> (a look that Mugler himself introduced in the late 90s). This time around, closing out the third chapter of the trilogy, the designer took on another of Mugler\u2019s iconic designs: the peek-a-boo dress from AW95, which notably includes an oval cut-out revealing the model\u2019s bum cheeks. Black, shaggy fur dresses were punctuated by glowing neon shades, meanwhile, loose, netted gowns seemed to unravel on the body. Leaning into the fantasy, tall slicked-back buns elongated models\u2019 heads, cartoonish heels came in a variety of bright shades, and avant-garde headpieces shielded the eyes. Not sci-fi enough? In a controversial stunt, MUA and drag artist <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/tag\/alexis-stone\"><span>Alexis Stone<\/span><\/a><span> sat <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DeFIPfAKpvH\/\"><span>in the front row as an eerie clone of Thierry Mugler<\/span><\/a><span>. In fact, in the brand\u2019s early days, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/thierry-mugler\"><span>Thierry Mugler<\/span><\/a><span> was a pioneer of futurism, dressing models in cyborgian looks long before it was popular to do so. \u201cI dreamed of creating another world, to my scale. One that was my own,\u201d the late French designer <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/fashion\/article\/55289\/1\/thierry-mugler-passed-away-died-kim-kardashian-cardi-b-beyonce-tribute-obituary\"><span>once said<\/span><\/a><span>. Since Portuguese creative director <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/tag\/miguel-castro-freitas\"><span>Miguel Castro Freitas<\/span><\/a><span> joined the brand a year ago, he has continued to build on the fantastical worlds that Mugler first created. As a result, he often goes viral with reinterpretations of Mugler\u2019s most provocative designs.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>At Castro Freitas\u2019 <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/ss26\"><span>SS26<\/span><\/a><span> debut, he presented\u00a0the first of a promised three-part runway series \u2013 <\/span><em><span>A Trilogy of Glorified Clich\u00e9s<\/span><\/em><span> \u2013 and got everyone talking with a slinky nude dress, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/fashion\/article\/68818\/1\/mugler-ss26-paris-fashion-week-pfw-miguel-castro-freitas-designer-debut-showgirl\"><span>held up by the model\u2019s own nipple rings<\/span><\/a><span> (a look that Mugler himself introduced in the late 90s). This time around, closing out the third chapter of the trilogy, the designer took on another of Mugler\u2019s iconic designs: the peek-a-boo dress from AW95, which notably includes an oval cut-out revealing the model\u2019s bum cheeks. Black, shaggy fur dresses were punctuated by glowing neon shades, meanwhile, loose, netted gowns seemed to unravel on the body. Leaning into the fantasy, tall slicked-back buns elongated models\u2019 heads, cartoonish heels came in a variety of bright shades, and avant-garde headpieces shielded the eyes. Not sci-fi enough? In a controversial stunt, MUA and drag artist <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/tag\/alexis-stone\"><span>Alexis Stone<\/span><\/a><span> sat <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DeFIPfAKpvH\/\"><span>in the front row as an eerie clone of Thierry Mugler<\/span><\/a><span>.
