When the first flakes fall at ski resorts, it\u2019s typically a dusting that disappears after a few hours. <\/strong>That was not the case at Alaska\u2019s biggest ski area, Alyeska Resort.<\/p>\n

Alyeska received its first snowfall of the season last Thursday, October 1, and it was anything but a dusting. <\/strong>The resort got hammered by a moderately strong snowstorm that seemingly dropped multiple inches of snow across Alyeska \u2014 maybe even enough to ride down its slopes. In the higher elevations, the snow stuck around through the night into Friday. Even days later, as of October 5, some snow is still holding on in the highest peaks.<\/p>\n

\u201cFirst flakes of the season quickly turned into a bit of a storm, and we could not be more STOKED,\u201d the resort wrote in its Facebook post<\/a>.\u00a0<\/strong><\/div>\n
