with the addition of 4K textures across all platforms, improved animations, higher-quality audio, and richer environmental detail, alongside a batch of community-requested bug fixes and quality-of-life changes.<\/p>\n<p>On PlayStation 5, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eurogamer.net\/topics\/ps5-pro\">PS5 Pro<\/a>, and Xbox Series X\/S, the update adds native support with platform-specific extras, including PSSR on PS5 Pro, TSR upscaling and anti-aliasing on Xbox Series X, and spatial audio on Xbox platforms more broadly.<\/p>\n<p>Console players will also be able to run the games at native 4K\/60fps or upscaled 4K\/120fps on compatible displays, with upgraded lighting, shadows and particle effects, DualSense Adaptive Triggers and Xbox Impulse Triggers, hardware tessellation and displacement, and power-saving modes on both platforms.<\/p>\n<p>Xbox players additionally get Play Anywhere and handheld support, while on PC, the update brings DLSS support alongside its own spatial audio and quality-of-life fixes.<\/p>\n<p>Full patch notes are being saved for launch, but the update will be free for all existing owners of Metro 2033 Redux and Metro Last Light Redux on PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, Windows Store, and GOG, and PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X\/S.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"injection_placeholder\" data-position=\"1\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The update also sets the stage for Metro 2039, which is slated to release on 4th February. Eurogamer went hands-on with the game back in August, with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eurogamer.net\/metro-2039-preview-interview-war-ukraine-bloch-ulmer\">our Dom writing<\/a> that &#8220;making games is hard under normal circumstances, but having played about two hours of Metro 2039 I&#8217;m floored by what the team has managed here.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;As well as being a competent shooter with remarkable graphics and a story inspired by the harshest of real world events, the crushing sense of claustrophobia and threat humming in the world of Metro 2039 makes previous games in the series seem almost relaxed.
