href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/pfw\"><span>Paris Fashion Week<\/span><\/a><span>, and there have already been so many shows it\u2019s hard to keep up. Rihanna was the guest of honour at Jonathan Anderson\u2019s Dior runway on Tuesday, where the Irish designer <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/fashion\/article\/71068\/1\/dior-ss27-paris-fashion-week-pfw-jonathan-anderson-rihanna-nuts\"><span>went nuts for nature in Les Jardins Tuileries<\/span><\/a><span>; Glenn Martens unexpectedly paid tribute to fellow Belgian designer Raf Simons by <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/fashion\/article\/71076\/1\/maison-margiela-ss27-paris-fashion-week-pfw-glenn-martens-dior-raf-simons\"><span>recreating his Dior AW12 couture show space<\/span><\/a><span>, but for this season\u2019s Margiela catwalk; Anthony Vaccarello hinted at a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/fashion\/article\/71077\/1\/saint-laurent-ss27-paris-fashion-week-pfw-anthony-vaccarello-exit-ysl\"><span>Saint Laurent swan song in a spectacular crescendo of golden garments<\/span><\/a><span> and a performance by Charlotte Gainsbourg, while Gwenyth Paltrow\u2019s daughter Apple Martin <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/fashion\/article\/71092\/1\/apple-martin-makes-her-catwalk-debut-at-chloe-s-ss27-show\"><span>made her runway debut at Chlo\u00e9<\/span><\/a><span> this morning.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>With not a second to catch our breaths, the schedule swept on to Balenciaga this afternoon, where <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/pierpaolo-piccioli\"><span>Pierpaolo Piccioli<\/span><\/a><span> presented his third ready-to-wear collection for the maison. Staged inside the historic Tennis Club de Paris on Avenue Georges Lafont, the space, that we can assume was previously reserved for racket sports, had been completely transformed by stark white walls, white wooden floorboards and two symmetrical oblongs of white benches. In the middle, standing out against the colourless set, was an imposing work by the textile sculptor Aude Franjou, a coral-like structure of curling red and yellow tentacles that almost reached the ceiling, made from winding layers of linen fibre. Piccioli had clearly enjoyed Paris Design Week last September \u2013 Franjou was invited to create an installation scaling the inside of the July Column at the Place de Bastille, the first artist ever allowed to do so. A year later, Piccioli has centred his show around that same work, and even named his SS27 collection, <\/span><em><span>Les Coraux de la Libert\u00e9<\/span><\/em><span>, after the piece.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<figure class=\"inline-img expandable dev-view-hide\" data-img=\"64b58431-f46a-4798-8836-b4d6013143b2\" data-src=\"https:\/\/images-prod.dazeddigital.com\/1515\/azure\/dazed-prod\/1450\/6\/1456615.jpg\" data-img-aspect-ratio-type=\"portrait\" data-img-aspect-ratio=\"0.75\"><span class=\"has-css-custom-props image-container\" data-aspect-ratio-type=\"portrait\"><span class=\"preserve-aspect-ratio\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Balenciaga SS27\" class=\"img\" height=\"2020\" src=\"https:\/\/images-prod.dazeddigital.com\/786\/azure\/dazed-prod\/1450\/6\/1456615.jpg\" width=\"1515\"><\/span><\/span><figcaption class=\"img-caption\"><span class=\"caption\">Balenciaga SS27<\/span><span class=\"credit\">Courtesy of Balenciaga<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<div class=\"embed-content\" data-embed-type=\"raw-html\">\n<p><span>Once guests had slowly made their way into the space and admired the sculpture \u2013 guests like <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/law-roach\"><span>Law Roach<\/span><\/a><span>, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/isabelle-huppert\"><span>Isabelle Huppert<\/span><\/a><span>, Nia Archives and a surprisingly not-that-late <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/lauryn-hill\"><span>Lauryn Hill<\/span><\/a><span> \u2013 the soundtrack thwacked into life and Piccioli\u2019s collection appeared. An all-white opening segment began the show, with a dramatic cape and intricate floral detailing. From there, the colour wheel exploded, with blouson jackets, high-collared shirts and tunic tops rendered in royal blue, shocking pink and glowing vermillion. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>More standout moments came in the Tudor-style shoulders, the cocoon collar coats, and models wearing frogspawn-like collars which clearly referenced Franjou\u2019s sea-inspired work. Rihanna was the guest of honour at Jonathan Anderson\u2019s Dior runway on Tuesday, where the Irish designer <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/fashion\/article\/71068\/1\/dior-ss27-paris-fashion-week-pfw-jonathan-anderson-rihanna-nuts\"><span>went nuts for nature in Les Jardins Tuileries<\/span><\/a><span>; Glenn Martens unexpectedly paid tribute to fellow Belgian designer Raf Simons by <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/fashion\/article\/71076\/1\/maison-margiela-ss27-paris-fashion-week-pfw-glenn-martens-dior-raf-simons\"><span>recreating his Dior AW12 couture show space<\/span><\/a><span>, but for this season\u2019s Margiela catwalk; Anthony Vaccarello hinted at a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/fashion\/article\/71077\/1\/saint-laurent-ss27-paris-fashion-week-pfw-anthony-vaccarello-exit-ysl\"><span>Saint Laurent swan song in a spectacular crescendo of golden garments<\/span><\/a><span> and a performance by Charlotte Gainsbourg, while Gwenyth Paltrow\u2019s daughter Apple Martin <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/fashion\/article\/71092\/1\/apple-martin-makes-her-catwalk-debut-at-chloe-s-ss27-show\"><span>made her runway debut at Chlo\u00e9<\/span><\/a><span> this morning.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>With not a second to catch our breaths, the schedule swept on to Balenciaga this afternoon, where <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/pierpaolo-piccioli\"><span>Pierpaolo Piccioli<\/span><\/a><span> presented his third ready-to-wear collection for the maison. Staged inside the historic Tennis Club de Paris on Avenue Georges Lafont, the space, that we can assume was previously reserved for racket sports, had been completely transformed by stark white walls, white wooden floorboards and two symmetrical oblongs of white benches. In the middle, standing out against the colourless set, was an imposing work by the textile sculptor Aude Franjou, a coral-like structure of curling red and yellow tentacles that almost reached the ceiling, made from winding layers of linen fibre. Piccioli had clearly enjoyed Paris Design Week last September \u2013 Franjou was invited to create an installation scaling the inside of the July Column at the Place de Bastille, the first artist ever allowed to do so. A year later, Piccioli has centred his show around that same work, and even named his SS27 collection, <\/span><em><span>Les Coraux de la Libert\u00e9<\/span><\/em><span>, after the piece.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<figure class=\"inline-img expandable dev-view-hide\" data-img=\"64b58431-f46a-4798-8836-b4d6013143b2\" data-src=\"https:\/\/images-prod.dazeddigital.com\/1515\/azure\/dazed-prod\/1450\/6\/1456615.jpg\" data-img-aspect-ratio-type=\"portrait\" data-img-aspect-ratio=\"0.75\"><span class=\"has-css-custom-props image-container\" data-aspect-ratio-type=\"portrait\"><span class=\"preserve-aspect-ratio\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Balenciaga SS27\" class=\"img\" height=\"2020\" src=\"https:\/\/images-prod.dazeddigital.com\/786\/azure\/dazed-prod\/1450\/6\/1456615.jpg\" width=\"1515\"><\/span><\/span><figcaption class=\"img-caption\"><span class=\"caption\">Balenciaga SS27<\/span><span class=\"credit\">Courtesy of Balenciaga<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<div class=\"embed-content\" data-embed-type=\"raw-html\">\n<p><span>Once guests had slowly made their way into the space and admired the sculpture \u2013 guests like <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/law-roach\"><span>Law Roach<\/span><\/a><span>, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/isabelle-huppert\"><span>Isabelle Huppert<\/span><\/a><span>, Nia Archives and a surprisingly not-that-late <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/lauryn-hill\"><span>Lauryn Hill<\/span><\/a><span> \u2013 the soundtrack thwacked into life and Piccioli\u2019s collection appeared. An all-white opening segment began the show, with a dramatic cape and intricate floral detailing. From there, the colour wheel exploded, with blouson jackets, high-collared shirts and tunic tops rendered in royal blue, shocking pink and glowing vermillion. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>More standout moments came in the Tudor-style shoulders, the cocoon collar coats, and models wearing frogspawn-like collars which clearly referenced Franjou\u2019s sea-inspired work.
