It’s that time of year again. As the nights lengthen, the ski industry machine splutters back into action and ski movie trailers start dropping like autumn leaves. Here on Downdays, we like to keep a tidy yard so we will be sweeping them all up as they fall—collecting them all here for you to enjoy.

We try to keep the yard spotless, but if we have missed something or you have a trailer dropping, drop us an email to scott@downdays.eu with a link to the trailer.

We Can’t Not | Legs of Steel

legsofsteel.eu

What they say: Paddy’s spent his whole life making ski films. But explaining why he’s compelled to do so? Not so much.

Until now. “We Can’t Not” is a ski film about making a ski film. One that his whole family can understand. Well, that’s the idea anyway.

And what better way to do this than by rounding up a who’s who of the world’s best skiers and pointing them at Alaska, the most feared and equally beautiful proving ground in freeride?

What follows is two years of long waits, gear anxiety, thumping helicopter blades, and moments that either fall apart or turn into something extraordinary.

Narrated by Sean Bean, expect introspection, snow nerds, raw talent and the occasionally terrifying stab at the only question that matters: Why do we do this?

What we say: If, like us, you’ve seen every single LOS film, then you’ll not need explaining why they make these films. LOS have always captured the raw stoke of skiing with the friends that make you laugh.

Featuring: Paddy Graham, Kye Petersen, Markus Eder, Tom Ritsch and Finn Bilous. Directed by Adam Gendle. Original soundtrack by Cari Cari.
