afternoon, easing us in with designers <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/fashion\/article\/71062\/1\/julie-kegels-ss27-paris-fashion-week-pfw-lvmh-prize\"><span>Julie Kegels<\/span><\/a><span> and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/tag\/hodakova\"><span>Hodakova<\/span><\/a><span>. Today, however, there was no holding back, with <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/dior\"><span>Dior<\/span><\/a><span> \u2013 the biggest show of the schedule so far \u2013 taking place this afternoon (September 29). This season, creative director <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/jonathan-anderson\"><span>Jonathan Anderson<\/span><\/a><span> took us back to his favourite spot, Paris\u2019 Jardin des Tuileries, the same location as his previous <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/fashion\/article\/69812\/1\/dior-aw26-fw26-jonathan-anderson-paris-fashion-week-pfw\"><span>AW26 womenswear show.<\/span><\/a><span> While last season he took inspiration from the Tuileries\u2019 green metal deck chairs, today\u2019s collection was all about walnuts. Allow us to explain\u2026\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h1>GOT NUTS?<\/h1>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"embed-content\" data-embed-type=\"raw-html-embed\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"embed-content\" data-embed-type=\"raw-html\">\n<p><span>J Dubs is clearly nuts about Dior. For his third women\u2019s ready-to-wear collection (and <\/span><em><span>ninth<\/span><\/em><span> runway in a year!) Anderson sent out a pair of polished walnuts as the invitation. Presented in a charming grey gift box with the Dior logo across the top, the invite immediately sparked speculation about what the upcoming collection might look like. As it turns out, walnuts were his starting point for SS27. More specifically, w\u00e9nw\u00e1n walnuts, which are used as a plaything in Chinese culture. Typically, you\u2019d rotate two in one hand to keep your fingers busy or to massage your palms \u2013 like nature\u2019s answer to a fidget spinner. \u201cComing across w\u00e9nw\u00e1n walnuts reminded me of how we can find knowledge and preciousness in nature,\u201d Anderson explained.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h1>RIHANNA ARRIVED ON TIME!<\/h1>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"instagram-container embed-content\" data-embed-type=\"media-instagram\" data-script-depends=\"instagram-embeds\">\n<script async src=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/embed.js\"><\/script><\/div>\n<div class=\"embed-content\" data-embed-type=\"raw-html\">\n<p><span>It wouldn\u2019t be a Dior show without a flurry of A-list stars jetting in for the occasion, and SS27 had its fair share of them on the frow. Perennial Dior faces like <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/rosalia\"><span>Rosal\u00eda<\/span><\/a><span>, Jennifer Lawrence, Jisoo and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/anya-taylor-joy\"><span>Anya Taylor-Joy<\/span><\/a><span> made their way to the Tuileries, as did brand ambassador <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/mia-goth\"><span>Mia Goth<\/span><\/a><span>, Olympic skier Eileen Gu, K-pop star Hyunjin, and Cynthia Erivo, making her Dior debut.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>But, as always, the guest of honour spot belonged to none other than Robyn Rihanna Fenty, who made it to her seat in fairly good time. Rumour has it that, the night before, Rihanna had guests waiting a total of 63 minutes before she arrived at Mati\u00e8res F\u00e9cales SS27, but this afternoon\u2019s Dior show was, luckily, not as delayed.<\/span><\/p>\n<h1>ACROSS THE POND<\/h1>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"instagram-container embed-content\" data-embed-type=\"media-instagram\" data-script-depends=\"instagram-embeds\">\n<script async src=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/embed.js\"><\/script><\/div>\n<div class=\"embed-content\" data-embed-type=\"raw-html\">\n<p><span>As mentioned, J Dubs returned to the Tuileries for today\u2019s catwalk, which was previously the location of March\u2019s AW26 show. While last season\u2019s set took inspiration from those lime deck chairs, this time the octagonal runway was rendered in lily white, with the main catwalk once again splitting the middle of the pond. Adding a fantasy edge were the trees sprouting from the middle of the pond \u2013 which models walked beneath on their journeys \u2013 plus plumes of smoky mist rising from beneath the runway and across the surface of the water.<\/span><\/p>\n<h1>LET THERE BE LIGHT(NESS)<\/h1>\n<\/div>\n<figure class=\"inline-img expandable dev-view-hide\" data-img=\"2b6e52b9-74ef-4e47-bd56-b4d4010cae1b\" data-src=\"https:\/\/images-prod.dazeddigital.com\/1999\/azure\/dazed-prod\/1450\/6\/1456213.jpg\" data-img-aspect-ratio-type=\"portrait\" data-img-aspect-ratio=\"0.67\"><span class=\"has-css-custom-props image-container\" data-aspect-ratio-type=\"portrait\"><span class=\"preserve-aspect-ratio\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Dior SS27\" class=\"img\" height=\"3000\" src=\"https:\/\/images-prod.dazeddigital.com\/786\/azure\/dazed-prod\/1450\/6\/1456213.jpg\" width=\"1999\"><\/span><\/span><figcaption class=\"img-caption\"><span class=\"caption\">Dior SS27<\/span><span class=\"credit\">Photography Estrop via <span class=\"nowrap\">Getty Images<\/span><\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<div class=\"embed-content\" data-embed-type=\"raw-html\">\n<p><span>The collection itself was as light as the smoke that rolled off the pond. Anderson turned to wafer-thin fabrics \u2013 silk mousselines, organza and Chantilly lace \u2013 and in the show notes, posed the question, \u201cHow light can a garment be?\u201d. Some pieces were so delicate that they looked as if they\u2019d been made out of petals and could blow away in the wind. Like different stages of a tree\u2019s cycle (from losing its leaves entirely to blocking out the sky above), Anderson contrasted transparency with opaqueness. White smoking jackets with black piping resembled swans \u2013 an inspiration that Anderson teased on social media with a glittering clutch bag.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Gleaming gold and silver python trousers also juxtaposed the floating see-through jackets, reappearing once again after making their debut at the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/fashion\/article\/70517\/1\/dior-ss27-paris-fashion-week-mens-jonathan-anderson-disco\"><span>Dior menswear<\/span><\/a><span> show in June. A series of knee-length cropped flares were designed to look like trumpet flowers, drooping down toward the ground, while one model wore a pair of green gardening shoes. Like fairies that had tumbled out of their trees, it was a collection that felt both ultra-light and at one with nature. Today, however, there was no holding back, with <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/dior\"><span>Dior<\/span><\/a><span> \u2013 the biggest show of the schedule so far \u2013 taking place this afternoon (September 29). This season, creative director <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/jonathan-anderson\"><span>Jonathan Anderson<\/span><\/a><span> took us back to his favourite spot, Paris\u2019 Jardin des Tuileries, the same location as his previous <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/fashion\/article\/69812\/1\/dior-aw26-fw26-jonathan-anderson-paris-fashion-week-pfw\"><span>AW26 womenswear show.<\/span><\/a><span> While last season he took inspiration from the Tuileries\u2019 green metal deck chairs, today\u2019s collection was all about walnuts. Allow us to explain\u2026\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h1>GOT NUTS?<\/h1>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"embed-content\" data-embed-type=\"raw-html-embed\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"embed-content\" data-embed-type=\"raw-html\">\n<p><span>J Dubs is clearly nuts about Dior. For his third women\u2019s ready-to-wear collection (and <\/span><em><span>ninth<\/span><\/em><span> runway in a year!) Anderson sent out a pair of polished walnuts as the invitation. Presented in a charming grey gift box with the Dior logo across the top, the invite immediately sparked speculation about what the upcoming collection might look like. As it turns out, walnuts were his starting point for SS27. More specifically, w\u00e9nw\u00e1n walnuts, which are used as a plaything in Chinese culture. Typically, you\u2019d rotate two in one hand to keep your fingers busy or to massage your palms \u2013 like nature\u2019s answer to a fidget spinner. \u201cComing across w\u00e9nw\u00e1n walnuts reminded me of how we can find knowledge and preciousness in nature,\u201d Anderson explained.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h1>RIHANNA ARRIVED ON TIME!<\/h1>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"instagram-container embed-content\" data-embed-type=\"media-instagram\" data-script-depends=\"instagram-embeds\">\n<script async src=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/embed.js\"><\/script><\/div>\n<div class=\"embed-content\" data-embed-type=\"raw-html\">\n<p><span>It wouldn\u2019t be a Dior show without a flurry of A-list stars jetting in for the occasion, and SS27 had its fair share of them on the frow. Perennial Dior faces like <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/rosalia\"><span>Rosal\u00eda<\/span><\/a><span>, Jennifer Lawrence, Jisoo and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/anya-taylor-joy\"><span>Anya Taylor-Joy<\/span><\/a><span> made their way to the Tuileries, as did brand ambassador <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/mia-goth\"><span>Mia Goth<\/span><\/a><span>, Olympic skier Eileen Gu, K-pop star Hyunjin, and Cynthia Erivo, making her Dior debut.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>But, as always, the guest of honour spot belonged to none other than Robyn Rihanna Fenty, who made it to her seat in fairly good time. Rumour has it that, the night before, Rihanna had guests waiting a total of 63 minutes before she arrived at Mati\u00e8res F\u00e9cales SS27, but this afternoon\u2019s Dior show was, luckily, not as delayed.<\/span><\/p>\n<h1>ACROSS THE POND<\/h1>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"instagram-container embed-content\" data-embed-type=\"media-instagram\" data-script-depends=\"instagram-embeds\">\n<script async src=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/embed.js\"><\/script><\/div>\n<div class=\"embed-content\" data-embed-type=\"raw-html\">\n<p><span>As mentioned, J Dubs returned to the Tuileries for today\u2019s catwalk, which was previously the location of March\u2019s AW26 show. While last season\u2019s set took inspiration from those lime deck chairs, this time the octagonal runway was rendered in lily white, with the main catwalk once again splitting the middle of the pond. Anderson turned to wafer-thin fabrics \u2013 silk mousselines, organza and Chantilly lace \u2013 and in the show notes, posed the question, \u201cHow light can a garment be?\u201d. Some pieces were so delicate that they looked as if they\u2019d been made out of petals and could blow away in the wind. Like different stages of a tree\u2019s cycle (from losing its leaves entirely to blocking out the sky above), Anderson contrasted transparency with opaqueness. White smoking jackets with black piping resembled swans \u2013 an inspiration that Anderson teased on social media with a glittering clutch bag.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Gleaming gold and silver python trousers also juxtaposed the floating see-through jackets, reappearing once again after making their debut at the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/fashion\/article\/70517\/1\/dior-ss27-paris-fashion-week-mens-jonathan-anderson-disco\"><span>Dior menswear<\/span><\/a><span> show in June. A series of knee-length cropped flares were designed to look like trumpet flowers, drooping down toward the ground, while one model wore a pair of green gardening shoes. Like fairies that had tumbled out of their trees, it was a collection that felt both ultra-light and at one with nature.
