All will give insight into the cultural conversations of the younger generations, revealing their preoccupations, habits and in some cases, insecurities.<\/p>\n<p>Sticking to the Top 10 most-searched-for Gen Alpha slang terms, here\u2019s what these ubiquitous expressions mean. (Incidentally, \u201cunc\u201d is short for \u201cuncle\u201d and is essentially a way for the new generation to call someone old. It didn\u2019t make the Top 10.)<\/p>\n<h2><strong>6-7<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Yep, this one&#8230; And it\u2019s still on top. It all started last year, and continues to completely ruin the joke \u201cWhy was 6 afraid of 7?\u201d The utterly meaningless term has been traced to the Skrilla song \u2018Doot Doot (6 7)\u2019 and <strong>went viral thanks to an excitable scamp at a basketball game<\/strong>. It became so pervasive that it was crowned <strong>Dictionary.com\u2019s 2025 Word of the Year<\/strong>. Usually accompanied by exaggerated up-and-down hand movements, what was supposed to be a flash-in-the-pan fad has gone from a trolling inside joke to a ubiquitous rallying cry for the brain damaged. At first, there was every reason to celebrate youngsters welcoming a level of absurd randomness into a world that routinely feels like it\u2019s sinking into godless oblivion; its continued pervasiveness now leads to a Darwin-disproving form of despair. <\/p>\n<h2><strong>Chud<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>For a cinematically literate generation, \u201cchud\u201d used to mean \u2018Cannibalistic Humanoid Underground Dwellers\u201d &#8211; a reference to the 1984 horror film <em>C.H.U.D<\/em>. Now, surly teens liberally dish out this insult to refer a stupid, ugly or downright repulsive person &#8211; to be used interchangeably with \u201closer\u201d, \u201cjerk\u201d or \u201carsewipe\u201d. Somewhat fascinatingly, the term \u201cchud\u201d has been embraced by people with left-wing political views when mocking right-wing trolls, fascists, ultranationalists and anarcho-capitalists.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Rizz<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>A shortened form of the word \u201ccharisma\u201d, \u201crizz\u201d was popularised by YouTuber Kai Cenat and describes a natural sense of charisma or flirting prowess. At first, there was every reason to celebrate youngsters welcoming a level of absurd randomness into a world that routinely feels like it\u2019s sinking into godless oblivion; its continued pervasiveness now leads to a Darwin-disproving form of despair. \u00a0Chud\u00a0For a cinematically literate generation, \u201cchud\u201d\u00a0used to mean \u2018Cannibalistic Humanoid Underground Dwellers\u201d &#8211; a reference to the 1984 horror film C.H.U.D. Now, surly teens liberally dish out this insult to refer a\u00a0stupid, ugly or downright repulsive person &#8211; to be used interchangeably with \u201closer\u201d, \u201cjerk\u201d or \u201carsewipe\u201d. Somewhat fascinatingly, the term \u201cchud\u201d has been embraced by people with left-wing political views when mocking right-wing trolls, fascists, ultranationalists and anarcho-capitalists.Rizz\u00a0A shortened form of the word \u201ccharisma\u201d, \u201crizz\u201d was popularised by YouTuber Kai Cenat and describes a natural sense of charisma or flirting prowess. The term is innocent enough when used casually, but when overused by near-sociopathic and misogynistic pick-up artists, it frequently becomes a byword to excuse\u00a0the worst tendencies peddled by the manosphere &#8211; the toxic internet subculture rooted in sexism and misogyny which is populated by noxious men with\u00a0the IQ of a steak and ale pie.Cap, No Cap\u00a0Cap = A\u00a0lie \/ exaggeration \/ falsehood.\u00a0No Cap = No lie \/ the equivalent of \u201cfor real\u201d.\u00a0Both terms are usually used at the beginning or the end of a sentence for emphasis and clarification. Alternatively, it could be used literally to describe someone with or without stylish headwear. Cap.Mog \/ Mogging\u00a0A popular internet slang term meaning to outshine, dominate or outclass someone else. This can be in terms of various metrics, but usually in appearance, fashion and fitness. \u201cHis outfit mogs mine\u201d \/ \u201cI totally got jawmogged by that chud\u2019s jawline\u201d &#8211; that sort of thing. \u00a0BopWhat used to be a term for a catchy song has evolved into a derogatory insult \u2013 and a misogynistic one at that. It implies that a person (usually a woman) is promiscuous and Gen Alpha uses it as a way to bully, shame and degrade people online. As for the reason behind the use of the three-letter word, it refers to the motion\u00a0during fellatio. Charming. \u00a0Larping \/ Larper \u00a0The term \u201clarper\u201d originally refers to a person who takes part in live-action role-playing (LARP) games. More recently, it has become\u00a0an online put-down describing someone who is fake or pretending to be someone they\u2019re not. It can be equated to a poser or someone who tries too hard. The term is usually found in the comment sections of content creators who pretend to be richer than they actually are or who try to sell people a lifestyle they don\u2019t themselves possess.Aura, aura points, aura farming \u00a0A not-so-distant cousin to \u201crizz\u201d, \u201caura\u201d describes a cool attitude and the charisma a person can exude. By extension, \u201caura points\u201d are a fictional measure of coolness. As for\u00a0\u201caura farming\u201d, it\u2019s\u00a0the more\u00a0pejorative descriptive\u00a0\u2013 meaning trying to boost one\u2019s perceived \u201ccoolness\u201d by \u201clarping\u201d. Those who \u201caura farm\u201d intentionally cultivate their persona through specific actions to appear cool. This can be through attempting to hang out with the popular crowd in order to increase one\u2019s social clout; seeking to assert dominance through try-hard actions to gain attention; or jumping on the latest craze and making a public spectacle of oneself to mask one\u2019s crippling sense of insecurity through the fleeting disillusionment that they\u2019re \u201cin\u201d.\u00a0Sigma\u00a0It should just be the 18th letter of the Greek alphabet. But because we can\u2019t have nice things, here goes&#8230; Positively, \u201csigma\u201d refers to an independent and self-reliant person who knows what they\u2019re about and couldn\u2019t care less about arbitrary social hierarchies. However, the term \u201csigma\u201d originates from the manosphere. They use the term as a step up from an \u201calpha male\u201d and see \u201csigma\u201d as the pinnacle of manhood \u2013 the lone wolf whose self-assured and dogged individualism sets him apart from \u201csimps\u201d (someone who shows \u201ctoo much\u201d attention for a &#8220;female\u201d).
