2026 ski films have officially started to drop across the United States, and you can feel that winter is in the air.<\/strong> In Colorado, the first ski film tour to make the rounds was the annual Level 1 Freeski Film Tour<\/a>, which had its worldwide premiere at the iconic Fox Theatre in Boulder, Colorado. We were on the ground to see who was a part of this year\u2019s film tour, and how each of the films stacks up.<\/p>\n

Negative Capability<\/em> \u2013 4Leaf Productions<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

The night kicked off with a film from 4Leaf Productions, a local group of skiers and riders from Boulder.<\/strong> What I loved about this film, and it embraced from the get-go, was the fact that, as we all know, last year\u2019s ski season wasn\u2019t the best. From the street skiing scenes around Boulder to the backcountry days up in the mountains, the low snow was abundantly clear, yet it never felt limiting. The lack of big mountain skiing appeared to only push the team to come up with more creative locations and tricks, most notably turning a bar counter inside a restaurant into a long box\/rail combo.<\/p>\n

With great pacing, perfect music, an authentic homegrown vibe, and a home crowd to support its premiere, Negative Capability<\/em> was one of the highlights of the night.<\/strong><\/p>\n

To completely contrast the low snow year film beforehand, Sorry I Missed Your Call<\/em> demonstrated how the Tetons didn\u2019t really experience the awful snow drought that the rest of the American West did.<\/strong> While the tricks, cinematography, and pacing of this film were spot on, the most impressive fact above all of those was that this 7-minute film features just one athlete \u2013 Manon Loschi. While almost all of the other films in this tour feature a roster of athletes, it was mind-blowing to know that this many big mountain lines and backcountry kickers were all done by Loschi in just one season.<\/p>\n
