France finished the 2025-26 winter as the most-visited ski destination on Earth, according to a new report from Domaines Skiables de France<\/a> (DSF), the trade association representing French ski lift operators.<\/strong> French resorts recorded 56.1 million skier visits for the season \u2014 up 2.4% from the previous winter and 6% above the average of the last four seasons \u2014 enough to edge out both Austria (53.7 million skier visits, up 3.7%) and the United States (52.6 million skier visits).<\/p>\n

It\u2019s the first time France has topped the global rankings since the 2014-15 season, and the third-best winter in French ski history, trailing only 2008-09 (58.6 million skier visits) and 2012-13 (57.6 million skier visits).<\/strong><\/p>\n
