The people behind Leeds dealer Iron City Motorcycles and Harley parts giant Iron Stable have launched Iron Offroad<\/a>, a UK website selling hard parts for motocross, enduro, trail and supermoto bikes \u2013 nearly 25,000 of them, from 55 brands, behind a lookup that only shows you what fits your bike.<\/p>\n

Pick the bike, see the parts<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The homepage gives you three ways in: by bike, by brand or by category. Pick the bike route and you choose make, model and year, and from that point every part you see is listed as fitting it. There are 40 makes and more than 4,500 make-and-model pages. KTM<\/a> is the biggest at 5,600-plus parts, with Yamaha<\/a>, Honda<\/a>, Husqvarna<\/a>, Kawasaki<\/a>, Suzuki<\/a> and GasGas<\/a> all over 3,000 each, then Beta<\/a>, Sherco, Fantic, TM Racing and Rieju. Orphaned brands are covered too \u2013 there are a thousand parts listed for Husaberg.<\/p>\n

The busiest pages are the ones you\u2019d expect: the Yamaha YZ250F<\/a>, Honda CRF450R<\/a>, KTM 450 SX-F<\/a> and Husqvarna FC 250<\/a> each run to well over 1,500 parts, and the enduro crowd get the KTM 300 EXC<\/a>, WR450F<\/a> and GasGas EC 300<\/a>. Fitment data goes back a long way \u2013 1974 for the YZ and KX lines \u2013 so a twenty-year-old bike isn\u2019t an afterthought.<\/p>\n

Every product page shows the RRP next to the shop price, the OEM part number it replaces where there is one, and the full list of models and years the part is listed for. So a piston kit that comes up under YZ 250 F also tells you it fits the WR 250 F and YZ 250 FX.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s on the shelf<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Hard parts, in the workshop sense. Engine<\/a> and top-end<\/a> rebuild kits, brakes<\/a>, plastics<\/a>, bars and levers, chains and sprockets<\/a>, exhausts<\/a>, filters, clutch and suspension internals, across 72 categories. The brand list<\/a> reads like a pit-lane roll call: Renthal<\/a>, ProX<\/a>, Wiseco, W\u00f6ssner, Vertex, Athena, Hot Rods, EBC<\/a>, Galfer, Moto-Master, Brembo, FMF<\/a>, Pro Circuit, Akrapovi\u010d, Polisport<\/a>, UFO, Cycra, Twin Air, Rekluse and \u00d6hlins among them.<\/p>\n

Prices are set, not negotiated, and there\u2019s no club to join to get them. At the time of writing a ProX piston kit for a 2019-on YZ250F was \u00a3142.91 against a \u00a3178.64 RRP, a UFO front fender for a KX85 was \u00a316.57 (RRP \u00a322.09) and Renthal front sprockets started at \u00a317.44.<\/p>\n

Delivery, returns and a real counter<\/strong><\/h3>\n

In-stock parts are dispatched from Leeds within two to three working days and the site quotes six to ten working days door to door. UK delivery is \u00a36.99 on orders under \u00a330, \u00a34.99 up to \u00a3100 and free above that, by DPD for boxed parts and Royal Mail for the small stuff. Unfitted parts can go back within 14 days, no quibble.<\/p>\n

If you\u2019d rather talk to a human, the counter is at Unit 1a, Wellington Road Industrial Estate, Leeds LS12 2UA, open Tuesday to Friday 9\u20135 and Saturday 9\u20134, on 0113 340 3591, and you can collect by arrangement. Orders are picked by the dealer\u2019s own workshop staff, which is a nice change from a warehouse guessing at fitment from a photo.<\/p>\n

More than a shop<\/strong><\/h3>\n

There\u2019s a set of plain-English workshop guides<\/a> \u2013 how to set race sag, when a chain and sprockets are really done<\/a>, cleaning and oiling an air filter<\/a> \u2013 and a UK motocross clubs directory<\/a> broken down by region, with track pages, for anyone wanting to get into the sport or find somewhere to ride.<\/p>\n

\u201cMost riders buying hard parts online are guessing at fitment from a photo and a part number,\u201d says Dale Gillespie. \u201cWe built Iron Offroad so you pick the bike first and everything you see after that fits it. It\u2019s the same thing we did for Harley owners with Iron Stable \u2013 just with more mud.\u201d<\/p>\n

Who\u2019s behind it<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Iron City Motorcycles is the Harley-Davidson, KTM, Royal Enfield and Mutt dealer on Wellington Road in Leeds \u2013 MCN\u2019s single-outlet Dealer of the Year in 2023 \u2013 and it sits on one of the North\u2019s oldest motor-trade family trees. Septimus Jennings started mending bicycles in a Morpeth shed in the 1890s, took his first premises in 1911 selling bicycles and motor cars, and signed with Ford in 1917. A management buyout in 2005 put Nas Khan OBE in charge; when the car dealerships were sold to Lookers in 2018, the Khan family kept the bikes, and Sohail Khan runs the Leeds and Gateshead operations today.<\/p>\n

The online arm is run by Dale Gillespie, the dealer\u2019s chief operating officer. In April this year his team launched Iron Stable<\/a>, a Harley-Davidson parts site with more than 100,000 parts and accessories from around 400 brands and a part finder built on exploded factory diagrams \u2013 by product count, the biggest independent Harley parts retailer in the country. Iron Tyres<\/a> followed with 3,400-plus motorcycle tyres. Iron Offroad, which went live in May, is the dirt-bike one, and it\u2019s deliberately narrow: MX, enduro, trail and supermoto only. No road bikes, no quads, and \u2013 the bit we like \u2013 no jerseys, goggles or hoodies getting in the way of the parts.<\/p>\n
