Vin Diesel has long stated his hope to somehow bring back the character of Brian O\u2019Conner<\/u><\/a> in Fast Forever, but if it does happen it will be without the assistance of late actor Paul Walker\u2019s brothers this time around.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

After Paul Walker died in a car accident in 2013<\/u><\/a> while Furious 7 was in production<\/u><\/a>, his brothers Cody and Caleb Walker<\/u><\/a> (along with actor John Brotherton<\/u><\/a>) were used as doubles<\/u><\/a> during the remainder of the shoot. Visual effects were then used<\/u><\/a> to map Paul\u2019s likeness over the stand-ins.<\/p>\n

Chatting with Entertainment Weekly<\/u><\/a>, Cody Walker said neither he nor Caleb will do that again for what\u2019s been touted as the final film in the Fast and Furious franchise<\/u><\/a>. Instead, Walker suggested artificial intelligence could be used this time to bring Brian back.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy stance is, it\u2019s what Meadow [Paul\u2019s daughter] wants to see done; it\u2019s her father,\u201d Cody said. (Meadow Walker cameoed in Fast X<\/u><\/a> and Vin Diesel even walked her down the aisle at her wedding<\/u><\/a>.)<\/p>\n

\u201cI would not be interested in doing that again. I love the way his character exited the franchise. They didn\u2019t kill him off, they didn\u2019t do something cheesy like that. It\u2019s beautiful, [Brian] is off raising his kids,\u201d Cody said. <\/p>\n

\u201cBut if they want to do that, if Meadow would like to see that, they don\u2019t need me or Caleb. AI was not a thing back in 2014, so they could do that. There\u2019s years of footage that was never used from these other Fast films. They\u2019re the best in the business, they can figure that out.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Walker brothers previously said back in 2018 that they were hopeful there was a way the series could bring back Paul\u2019s character<\/u><\/a> even though earlier reports suggested the franchise would simply retire the character<\/u><\/a> of Brian O\u2019Conner. But as fans of the franchise know, that isn\u2019t quite what ended up happening. <\/p>\n
