There\u2019s a new Tour de France TV show on its way to your screens, but don\u2019t expect to see Tadej Poga\u010dar and Mathieu van der Poel, intra-team beefs, and character assassinations.<\/p>\n
This French production won\u2019t be some fly-on-the-wall akin to the wildly popular Netflix show, Tour de France: Unchained<\/em>.<\/p>\n Per reports from entertainment website Allocin\u00e9<\/em>, the upcoming six-parter will be a soapy Tour-adjacent drama.<\/p>\n \u201cIt features Nora, a formidable businesswoman who buys Deepblue, a struggling French cycling team,\u201d writes Allocin\u00e9. <\/em>\u201cBut while she thinks she can impose her methods on the peloton, she soon realizes that in the Tour de France, nothing is ever guaranteed.<\/p>\n \u201cNora finds herself face to face with Mathias, a wounded former star who refuses to retire, and Ayden, a young prodigy who came out of nowhere and became the hope of an entire nation, much like Paul Seixas,\u201d Allocin\u00e9<\/em> writes. \u201cNora then discovers that a cycling team is built on suffering, sacrifice, and trust.\u201d<\/p>\n Who needs juicy clips from inside team buses or insightful interviews with Poga\u010dar when you can get invested in a plot like that?!<\/p>\n The unnamed series isn\u2019t totally divorced from the \u201creal\u201d Tour de France, however.<\/p>\n Allocin\u00e9<\/em> reports that the show is staged in many of the locations that hosted this year\u2019s race and largely follows the same route.<\/p>\n The series is the brainchild of Louis Leterrier, best known for directing the movies Clash of the Titans<\/em>, The Incredible Hulk<\/em>, and the 2013 smash Now You See Me<\/em>.<\/p>\n The new show follows on from the success of Netflix\u2019s Tour de France: Unchained<\/em> and the Movistar documentary, El D\u00eda Menos Pensado.<\/em><\/p>\n The big-budget Netflix program ran for three seasons and was widely credited with bringing cycling to a new audience with its unique behind-the-scenes format.<\/p>\n The new French production might not do quite that \u2013 but it could be better than a lot of the tripe that\u2019s put onto streaming services.<\/p>\n Allocin\u00e9<\/em> reported the show will air in 2027 on Prime Video and France T\u00e9l\u00e9visions.<\/p>\n It\u2019s unclear whether the show will be available globally or whether intrigued bike fans will have to get creative to sidestep any georestrictions.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n [analyse_source url=”https:\/\/velo.outsideonline.com\/road\/road-racing\/new-tour-de-france-tv-show-might-not-expect\/”]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" [analyse_image type=”featured” src=”https:\/\/velo-cdn.outsideonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Z8A_2470-2.jpg”] Jim Cotton Updated September 9, 2026 02:51AM There\u2019s a new Tour de France TV show on its way to your screens, but don\u2019t expect to see Tadej Poga\u010dar and Mathieu van der Poel, intra-team beefs, and character assassinations.
