Polestar design boss Philipp R\u00f6mers \u2013 who of course replaced Max Missoni<\/a> (now at BMW) \u2013 said of the new concept: \u201cPolestar\u2019s design and brand is already so strong, it was obvious we needed a bold evolution not revolution of what came before.<\/p>\n

\u201cFormula 2030 delivers this, showcasing our future while respecting brand-defining elements like the familiar Dual Blade headlights ensuring it remains recognisably a Polestar with a strong, characterful identity.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

True, Polestar\u2019s design and branding is very strong, but its sales\u2026 less so. It\u2019s been hurt by the US decision to ban its 2027+ cars<\/a> following the \u2018Connected Vehicle Rule\u2019 restricting sales of stuff linked to China. Polestar\u2019s owned by Geely, which is Chinese.<\/p>\n

It reckons the cost of this US \u2018restructuring\u2019 has increased its consolidated net loss by $211m between January and June 2026. \u201cFurther negative adjustments should be expected in future periods,\u201d a recent financial statement read. Revenues are down by four per cent, and its forecasted growth has also been cut. Ouchy.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
