Grand Slam.<\/p>\n<p>The Spaniard has dropped just one set in his first three matches at the US Open, against Roman Safiullin, Jaime Faria, and Wu Yibing, as he has looked to shrug off his lack of match fitness.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo be honest, I\u2019m better than I thought,\u201d said Alcaraz after his victory against Wu Yibing, and he has certainly lived up to his favourite tag so far in New York.<\/p>\n<p>However, John McEnroe has now doused the Spaniard\u2019s comeback to the sport in worry with his latest comments about the world No 3.<\/p>\n<h2>More Carlos Alcaraz news<\/h2>\n<p><a win<\/a><\/p>\n<p>During ESPN\u2019s coverage of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tag\/us-open\">US Open<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tag\/john-mcenroe\">McEnroe<\/a> said: \u201cMy great rival <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tag\/bjorn-borg\">Bj\u00f6rn Borg<\/a> played his last match at 25. That\u2019s the last thing we want for Carlos. It would be terrible if he couldn\u2019t become the player he was before the injury.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>However, McEnroe has also predicted what the Spaniard could achieve if he does manage to stay fit for the rest of his career.<\/p>\n<p>The multi-time Grand Slam champion said: \u201cIf he stays in good health, he could win at least ten more Grand Slam titles.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Should <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tag\/carlos-alcaraz\">Alcaraz<\/a> live up to McEnroe\u2019s prediction, he will end his career on 17 Grand Slam titles, which would be an astonishing feat.<\/p>\n<p>That will put him above the likes of Roy Emerson, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tag\/pete-sampras\">Pete Sampras<\/a>, and McEnroe himself.
