coach holidays are enjoying a revival. From luxury tours to DIY city-hopping, here are five European routes worth taking.<br \/>\n    <\/h2>\n<div class=\"c-article-content c-article-content--travel js-article-content\">\n<p>Think of coach trips, and you may conjure up an image of a rather naff way to see the world, favoured by people of retirement age. <\/p>\n<div>\n<div class=\"c-ad u-show-for-mobile-only\">\n<div class=\"c-ad__placeholder\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"c-ad__placeholder__logo\" src=\"https:\/\/static.euronews.com\/website\/images\/logos\/logo-euronews-stacked-outlined-72x72-grey-9.svg\" width=\"72\" height=\"72\" alt loading=\"lazy\"><span>ADVERTISEMENT<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"c-ad u-show-for-desktop\">\n<div class=\"c-ad__placeholder\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"c-ad__placeholder__logo\" src=\"https:\/\/static.euronews.com\/website\/images\/logos\/logo-euronews-stacked-outlined-72x72-grey-9.svg\" width=\"72\" height=\"72\" alt loading=\"lazy\"><span>ADVERTISEMENT<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Now, though, coach trips are having something of a renaissance \u2013 and they\u2019re actually a great way to explore countries with ease and in comfort.<\/p>\n<p>The Geneva-headquartered International Road Transport Union (IRU) is backing this trend and singing its praises. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cCoaches bring visitors from airports, ports and railway stations to historic cities, coastal destinations, mountain villages and cultural landmarks,\u201d an IRU statement said. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey make school trips possible, support business events and conferences, enable group travel and provide affordable holidays for families, young people and seniors alike.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The body also points out coaches have the flexibility to reach smaller towns, rural regions and emerging destinations, something that\u2019s not always possible with other forms of transport. <\/p>\n<p>It says they\u2019re relatively excellent for the environment, as high passenger capacity combined with greenhouse gas emissions per passenger means they\u2019re comparable to long-distance rail, and coach trips are often more affordable than other holiday options. <\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019re keen to experience a coach trip for yourself, these are some of the best options currently running across Europe. <\/p>\n<h3>The Road to Rome &#8211; Insight Vacations<\/h3>\n<p>The quality and comfort of coaches can vary significantly, but Insight Vacations offers luxury coaches with double legroom and a decent Wi-Fi connection. <\/p>\n<p>Its \u201cRoad to Rome\u201d package is a great way to take the plunge into the world of coach trips.
