I\u2019m wondering if hitting milestones like this has changed your perception of the song.<\/p>\n \n\tRebecca Black: Obviously, it\u2019s a huge deal, and I\u2019ve watched the industry change a million times over, over the last 15 years.<\/p>\n \n\tKristin Robinson: Can virality happen too early for someone?<\/p>\n \n\tRebecca Black: Artists lose grip on who they are or what they\u2019re meant to be just because they\u2019re trying to recapture that number, which I don\u2019t blame them. As soon as an artist has a team, that\u2019s a bottom line. You\u2019re responsible for huge percentages of your income being a sustainable income for everybody else.<\/p>\n \n\tKristin Robinson: You have a new album coming out, Age of the Exhibitionist<\/em>. Do you still hope for virality?<\/p>\n \n\tRebecca Black: I think if I spent any time of my life [laughs<\/em>] trying to recapture what happened to me, I would be wasting a lot of my own energy.<\/p>\n \n\tKristin Robinson: You know what they say, there\u2019s no such thing as bad press.
