\n\tA newly restored concert film which captures Michael as the peak of his considerable powers in the late 1980s promises to remind fans of the late WHAM singer, and introduce newcomers to his talents.<\/p>\n
\n\tGeorge Michael: The Faith Tour<\/em>, a previously unseen film documenting the singer\u2019s landmark 1988 tour, is due out in cinemas from Nov. 6, through a partnership with George Michael Entertainment, Mercury Studios and Sony Music Entertainment. That film now has an official trailer and a poster, both of which can be seen in full below.<\/p>\n\n

\n\t\u201cI guess what \u2018Faith\u2019 meant to me was,\u201d he remarks in the clip, \u201clife to me was still going to deliver.\u201d<\/p>\n
\n\tAnnounced in March, the film was shot during the 1988 European leg of Michael\u2019s Faith Tour <\/em>at Paris\u2019 Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy, and studies the artist at the crossroads of his career, just two years after WHAM! officially split and filmed soon after release of his solo debut LP Faith<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\tLongtime collaborators Andy Morahan and David Austin direct, using footage, restored and remastered from a 14-camera shoot on 35mm film across two nights. According to producers, an original short film by Mary McCartney opens the feature, using newly discovered audio and imagery from 1986\u20131988, the timeframe during which he\u00a0wrote and performed\u00a0Faith<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\tAs previously reported, an accompanying live album titled The Faith Tour<\/em> will be released globally through Sony Music. The 18-track set will feature previously unreleased performances recorded during the world tour and include material spanning Michael\u2019s solo catalogue as well as songs from his earlier work with Wham!.<\/p>\n\n

\n\tMichael\u2019s 1987 album Faith<\/em> is one of the defining pop music releases of its era, earning the Grammy Award for album of the year and yielding four No. 1 hits on the Billboard Hot 100: \u201cFaith,\u201d \u201cFather Figure,\u201d \u201cOne More Try\u201d and \u201cMonkey.\u201d Michael remains the only British male solo artist to land four Hot 100 chart-toppers from a single album.<\/p>\n\n\tThe pop superstar died on Christmas Day 2016, at the age of 53, and was posthumously inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame in 2023. <\/p>\n
\n\tIn the same year as his Rock Hall nod, Netflix released the original documentary\u00a0WHAM!<\/em>. The story of those groundbreaking concerts in China was retold in the 1986 film\u00a0Wham! in China: Foreign Skies<\/em>. A separate documentary, WHAM! 10 Days In China, <\/em>arrived in July, and premiered last month on BBC Two and BBC iPlayer.<\/p>\n\n\tUniversal Pictures Content Group and Bleecker Street\u2019s event cinema division Crosswalk recently announced the acquisition of international and North American rights to George Michael: The Faith Tour<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\tWatch the official trailer below.<\/p>\n\n\n
