quarterback now facing three citations connected to the incident.<\/p>\n<p data-mrf-recirculation=\"Links P\u00e1rrafos\" class=\"ue-c-article__paragraph paragraph\">Milwaukee County court records show the citations were filed Thursday, Aug. 27, after <strong>Romo <\/strong>was arrested July 23 on suspicion of operating a vehicle while intoxicated.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"ue-c-article__media ue-c-article__media--video  video-player\"><figcaption class=\"ue-c-article__media-caption\">\n<div class=\"ue-c-article__media-caption-inner\"><span class=\"ue-c-article__media-description\">NFL former NFL star is facing allegations of first-offense OWI, unsafe passing on the right and possessing an open intoxicant in his vehicle. He\u2019d also previously been cited for refusing to take an intoxication test.<\/p>\n<p data-mrf-recirculation=\"Links P\u00e1rrafos\" class=\"ue-c-article__paragraph paragraph\"><strong>Romo <\/strong>was stopped while driving southbound on Interstate 43 in Milwaukee. According to authorities, the traffic stop followed concerns about his driving, including an unsafe pass on the right and cutting across a gore area separating traffic lanes from an entrance ramp.<\/p>\n<p data-mrf-recirculation=\"Links P\u00e1rrafos\" class=\"ue-c-article__paragraph paragraph\">During the encounter, an open alcoholic beverage was reportedly found inside <strong>Romo\u2019s <\/strong>vehicle. Deputies also said he performed poorly on standardized field sobriety tests.<\/p>\n<p data-mrf-recirculation=\"Links P\u00e1rrafos\" class=\"ue-c-article__paragraph paragraph\"><strong>Romo <\/strong>ultimately refused to take a breathalyzer test and was taken into custody before being booked and released later that evening.<\/p>\n<p data-mrf-recirculation=\"Links P\u00e1rrafos\" class=\"ue-c-article__paragraph paragraph\">Body-camera footage released several days after the arrest offered a closer look at the traffic stop. <strong>Romo <\/strong>told the deputy he\u2019d been at a golf tournament and was heading to visit his grandparents.<\/p>\n<p data-mrf-recirculation=\"Links P\u00e1rrafos\" class=\"ue-c-article__paragraph paragraph\">The footage showed him completing field sobriety exercises before officers placed him under arrest.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"ue-c-article__subheadline\">Romo\u2019s CBS future remains uncertain<\/h2>\n<p data-mrf-recirculation=\"Links P\u00e1rrafos\" class=\"ue-c-article__paragraph paragraph\">The legal situation has also put <strong>Romo\u2019s <\/strong>broadcasting career under a spotlight. CBS Sports placed him on leave on July 31, saying he\u2019d remain away from his duties until further notice.<\/p>\n<p data-mrf-recirculation=\"Links P\u00e1rrafos\" class=\"ue-c-article__paragraph paragraph\"><strong>J.J. Watt <\/strong>has stepped into <strong>Romo\u2019s <\/strong>position alongside<strong> Jim Nantz and Tracy Wolfson<\/strong> on CBS\u2019s lead NFL broadcast team.<\/p>\n<p data-mrf-recirculation=\"Links P\u00e1rrafos\" class=\"ue-c-article__paragraph paragraph\">CBS Sports president <strong>David Berson <\/strong>said earlier in August that there was no timetable for <strong>Romo\u2019s <\/strong>return, explaining that the network was still evaluating the situation and considering its impact on the company\u2019s image and brand.<\/p>\n<p data-mrf-recirculation=\"Links P\u00e1rrafos\" class=\"ue-c-article__paragraph paragraph\"><strong>Romo <\/strong>has now addressed the controversy through a spokesperson. His representative said <strong>Romo <\/strong>accepts full responsibility for his actions and has taken steps to resolve what was described as an isolated civil matter.<\/p>\n<p data-mrf-recirculation=\"Links P\u00e1rrafos\" class=\"ue-c-article__paragraph paragraph\">&#8220;Tony accepts full responsibility for his actions and has taken proactive steps to ensure that this isolated civil matter is properly resolved,&#8221; a rep said as per\u00a0TMZ.<\/p>\n<p data-mrf-recirculation=\"Links P\u00e1rrafos\" class=\"ue-c-article__paragraph paragraph\">&#8220;We are working with local authorities to bring this matter to a close and we are communicating with CBS about next steps.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p data-mrf-recirculation=\"Links P\u00e1rrafos\" class=\"ue-c-article__paragraph paragraph\"><strong>Romo\u2019s <\/strong>NFL playing career lasted from 2004 through 2017, all with Dallas, before he transitioned into broadcasting with CBS. He became one of the network\u2019s most recognizable NFL analysts and signed a lucrative long-term contract.<\/p>\n<p data-mrf-recirculation=\"Links P\u00e1rrafos\" class=\"ue-c-article__paragraph paragraph\">Now, however, his immediate future remains unclear. <strong>Romo <\/strong>is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 21, when the latest citations are expected to be addressed.
