\n\tThe song used a hint of Western swing to make it ideal for two-stepping across the hardwood, slipping old-school country into the format in the same way that Randy Travis\u2019 \u201cForever and Ever, Amen\u201d or Ricky Van Shelton\u2019s \u201cFrom a Jack to a King\u201d flavored radio rotations three decades earlier. \u201cHead Over Boots\u201d stepped 3-1 on Billboard<\/em>\u2019s Country Airplay list dated Aug. 27 in its 46th charted week, putting Pardi\u2019s name at the summit for the first time in his career.<\/p>\n

\n\tProduced by Bart Butler (Midland, Randall King), \u201cBoots\u201d was co-written by Pardi and Luke Laird (Eric Church\u2019s \u201cDrink in My Hand,\u201d Megan Moroney\u2019s \u201cAm I Okay?\u201d), inspired by the atmosphere of a dancehall that Pardi visited during a 2013 trip to his father\u2019s place in central Texas.<\/p>\n

\n\tBorn and raised in Northern California, Pardi moved to Nashville in 2008 and set himself up with his energetic 2014 debut album, Write You a Song<\/em>. \u201cBoots\u201d was released as the lead single from his sophomore project, California Sunrise<\/em>, which debuted at No. 1 on Top Country Albums in July 2016. The song became the first of five Pardi singles to top Country Airplay, the most recent coming with 2022\u2019s \u201cLast Night Lonely.\u201d \u201cBoots\u201d has since been certified seven-times Platinum by the RIAA, tying it with follow-up \u201cDirt on My Boots\u201d as the top title among his 17 certified singles.<\/p>\n

\n\tA 10th-anniversary edition of California<\/em>Sunrise<\/em>, certified triple-platinum, was released June 12.<\/p>\n
