href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tag\/roger-federer\">Roger Federer<\/a> has been one of the biggest talking points of the US Open already this year and he is set to stick around in the sport for a good while yet.<\/p>\n<p>Federer returned to Arthur Ashe Stadium for a selection of events during the US Open\u2019s \u2018Opening Week\u2019, including a practice session with Lorenzo Musetti and a set with Andy Roddick.<\/p>\n<p>Following his stint at the US Open, which is the first time he has played the event since 2019, Federer is set to head to Newport, Rhode Island to be inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame.<\/p>\n<p>Federer is being inducted in the first year he is eligible and he is set to enter the prestigious Hall of Fame alongside WTA Tour icon Mary Carillo.<\/p>\n<p>While Federer\u2019s upcoming induction has made headlines, Johanna Konta believes Federer\u2019s career and popularity almost outstrips the entire organisation.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to <a rel=\"noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tntsports.co.uk\/tennis\/us-open\/2026\/johanna-konta-roger-federer-rafael-nadal-novak-djokovic-hall-of-fame_sto23331323\/story.shtml\" target=\"_blank\">TNT Sports<\/a>, the former British no 1 explained how <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tag\/roger-federer\">Federer\u2019s<\/a> impending Tennis Hall of Fame induction felt like a foregone It almost feels pointless because it\u2019s so obvious that it almost doesn\u2019t seem real,\u201d said <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tag\/johanna-konta\">Konta<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut I saw a little clip from clip of him tying his bandanna up [at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tag\/us-open\">US Open<\/a>], and it was just so nostalgic.
