A Florida motorist captured on video swerving his SUV into cyclists before allegedly firing a gun has been arrested and charged, authorities said.<\/p>\n

Raimiero Rios, 40, turned himself in to the Miami-Dade Sheriff\u2019s Office days after Saturday morning\u2019s confrontation in Cutler Bay, about 20 miles south of Miami, according to NBC 6 South Florida<\/em>.<\/p>\nRios faces one count each of aggravated assault with a firearm, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, and discharging a firearm from a vehicle. He was taken to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center and has since posted $15,000 bond.<\/p>\n
According to an arrest report cited by NBC 6<\/em>, Rios was driving at about 7:30 a.m. Saturday when he began honking at a group of cyclists traveling in the same direction.<\/p>\nAuthorities said Rios then swerved his black SUV toward the riders, forcing one cyclist off the roadway before striking the other with the vehicle.<\/p>\n

The arrest report states that Rios then brandished a gun and fired one round in the direction of one of the cyclists. Deputies later found evidence of a gunshot fired into the ground. No injuries were reported.<\/p>\n
Video of the confrontation shows the cyclists riding along the road as the black SUV approaches from behind and swerves into the group.<\/p>\n
A longer version of the video shows the riders traveling two abreast past a sign urging motorists to share the road with cyclists. As the SUV approaches, the cyclists move toward the side of the road.<\/p>\n
The vehicle then swerves toward them, forcing the riders to stop. One cyclist is seen slapping the passenger-side window with an open palm.<\/p>\n
Rios left the scene before deputies arrived, according to authorities. He later went to a Miami-Dade Sheriff\u2019s Office station and turned himself in.<\/p>\n
The confrontation is the latest high-profile case involving cyclists and motorists on U.S. roads.<\/p>\n
It comes just days after two Milligan University students were killed when a driver struck members of the university\u2019s cycling team during a morning training ride in Tennessee.<\/p>\n
That driver was released on $300,000 bond and faces a preliminary hearing August 31.<\/p>\n
