\n\t\u201cThe feeling of losing my Aunt Dolly is beyond what feels right to share,\u201d Cyrus began alongside a black-and-white photo of a younger Parton. \u201cOur most sacred moments were private and they\u2019ll stay there behind the stage, beneath the glamour & between our hearts.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWhat I KNOW is Dolly would want me to feel it, write a song about it, and then continue on and be strong,\u201d she continued. \u201cI have an angel by my side. I always have. One of our last conversations was about music and metamorphosis.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tCyrus went on to say that she \u201cwill always love her and want to make her proud,\u201d adding that her \u201cheart breaks for the world, her family and friends who will miss her deeply.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWe\u2019re in this loss together,\u201d the star concluded, \u201cand we will see her in all of the most beautiful things.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tParton died Tuesday (Aug. 25) after \u201ca brief battle with cancer,\u201d according to a statement shared by her team that day. The news was formally announced to the world by her nephew, Bryan Seaver, who served as her head of security for two decades.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cSadness lies with us, not Dolly,\u201d Seaver said in a video posted to his famous aunt\u2019s social media. \u201cDolly has lived in the light and is in the arms of Jesus, surely met by Carl, her parents and countless others who had watched her and longed for her to meet them in the heavens. She never saw a door she couldn\u2019t open and the doors she opened made and changed history.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tThe close bond between Parton and Cyrus was special to fans across the world, many of whom watched them act alongside each other on Hannah Montana<\/em>, on which the Queen of Country made a couple of cameos as Cyrus\u2019 character\u2019s godmother. Parton also joined her real-life goddaughter for Miley\u2019s New Year\u2019s Eve Party<\/em> in 2022, and the two women collaborated on songs such as \u201cRainbowland\u201d from Cyrus\u2019 2017 album Younger Now<\/em> and a revamped version of \u201cWrecking Ball\u201d for Parton\u2019s 2024 LP, Rockstar.<\/em><\/p>\n

\n\tThe pair were also open about their love for one another in interviews. \u201cI love my Miley,\u201d Parton said in a clip for Billboard <\/em>in 2023 while discussing their joint version of \u201cWrecking Ball.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tCyrus\u2019 post about Parton comes on the heels of her father\u2019s. Billy Ray Cyrus posted his own tribute to the music legend on Tuesday, writing on Instagram, \u201cI have so many moments and memories with Dolly, it\u2019s hard to know where to start.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cLike every little boy, I grew up loving Dolly Parton,\u201d he continued. \u201cShe was a part of our lives, on our TV\u2019s, right in our living rooms \u2026 Dolly recently sent me a beautiful message, telling me she loved me with her whole heart. I will always love her in the same way \u2026.. with my whole heart \u2026 and I always will.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
